Stable Cottage is a charming, peaceful home that sits on a stunning estate in rural Nottinghamshire. The cottage is hidden away in 15,000 acres of forest and rolling hills in North Nottinghamshire, and sleeps up to three guests, meaning it’s perfect for a romantic couples’ break or a small family getaway.
Inside, the cottage has a quaint, cosy feel. Unwind on the sofa in the lounge, watching a movie on the smart TV. The stylish kitchen is nicely equipped with everything you need to prepare a delicious feast, and the cute dining space sets the scene for romantic meals that run into the night. There’s also a lovely alfresco dining spot outside in the enclosed garden, where you can dine in the summer sunshine whilst soaking in the tranquil surroundings. Also outside is a fab BBQ that’s perfect for grilling up delicious local produce during your stay.
When night falls, there are two bedrooms on offer upstairs. The first is a lovely double room with a skylight and views of the surrounding scenery. The second is a cute, cosy single room, that’s perfect for a child or a solo traveller. The cottage also has a modern shower room with a skylight window, ensuring plenty of natural light pours in. You’ll also be pleased to hear that Stable Cottage is dog-friendly, so your canine companion can join you on your stay!
Step outside your door and discover the cultural, historical and natural treasures of the Welbeck Estate and its surroundings. Enjoy a seasonal tour of the State Rooms at Welbeck Abbey, or explore local art and heritage at The Harley Gallery and The Portland Collection Museum. Just a short distance away, Creswell Crags reveals fascinating Ice Age history, while Clumber Park, Sherwood Forest and Rufford Abbey Country Park offer beautiful woodland walks.
History enthusiasts will appreciate visits to Thoresby Park, Hardwick Hall, Bolsover Castle and the grand Chatsworth House. For outdoor adventures, Sherwood Pines is the perfect destination.
When it’s time to unwind and dine, popular spots include The Harley Café at Welbeck, The Greendale Oak in Cuckney, Forest Lodge in Edwinstowe, The Millhouse in Worksop and The Devonshire in Langwith. With so much to see and do, these barns provide the perfect base for your countryside escape.
