Tucked away amidst 15,000 acres of forest and rolling hills in North Nottinghamshire, on the historic Welbeck Estate, this unique collection of five beautifully converted barns offers the perfect countryside escape. Each barn is finished to a high standard with calming, contemporary interiors, open-plan living spaces and tranquil gardens ideal for unwinding and reconnecting with nature.
Whether you're travelling as a couple, family or group of friends, there’s a barn to suit your stay. Marquesa offers bright, stylish interiors, a relaxing sunroom and a lovely garden for alfresco dining. Mrs Butterwick, the largest of the barns, sleeps up to eight and features a luxurious private hot tub - perfect for soaking under the stars. La Roche impresses with its striking floor-to-ceiling window and another inviting hot tub in the garden. Mowerina, a spacious and dog-friendly barn, also features a hot tub, three stylish bedrooms and sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. For smaller groups, Phaleron is a charming single-storey barn that sleeps four, complete with a cosy courtyard patio for evening drinks.
Inside each barn, you’ll find open-plan lounges designed for socialising, with comfortable seating, large televisions and free WiFi. Fully equipped kitchens, modern appliances and thoughtful extras - like tea, coffee and cooking essentials - make dining together easy and enjoyable. Outside, peaceful gardens and patios with seating, parasols and BBQs invite you to dine alfresco or simply relax in the fresh country air with a drink in your hand.
Beyond your barn door, the Welbeck Estate and its surroundings offer a rich mix of culture, history and nature. Take a seasonal tour of Welbeck Abbey’s State Rooms, or visit The Harley Gallery and The Portland Collection Museum for a taste of local art and heritage. Nearby, Creswell Crags offers a glimpse into the Ice Age, while Clumber Park, Sherwood Forest and Rufford Abbey Country Park are perfect for woodland walks. History lovers will enjoy Thoresby Park, Hardwick Hall, Bolsover Castle and Chatsworth House. For outdoor fun, head to Sherwood Pines.
When it's time to refuel, local favourites include The Harley Café at Welbeck, The Greendale Oak in Cuckney, Forest Lodge in Edwinstowe, The Millhouse in Worksop and The Devonshire in Langwith. With so much to explore and enjoy, this collection of barns is the ideal base for your countryside getaway.
