This spectacular Georgian property, situated in the centre of pretty Totnes, is filled with fun, luxury and decadence and you'll be enchanted from the moment you step through the front door.
Every room is luxurious and chic with velvet sofas, stunning colour schemes of teals and blues, whites and greys, and thoughtfully chosen paintings and prints. Every detail has been considered and no expense spared to create a truly spectacular space.
There are two sumptuous sitting rooms full of period features including ornate coving and stunning fireplaces with wood burners - perfect for cosy evenings curled up on the sofa. Connect to the high-end Sonos speakers and get down in the dining room's 'disco zone' or for more sedate entertainment, why not rattle off a few sonatas on the clavinova?
The kitchen is at the heart of the home. White walls, pine flooring and windows looking out onto the lovely garden make this light, bright space feel welcoming and relaxing, and ideal for get-togethers. A large wooden kitchen table is ready and waiting to be covered in bowls and plates of delicious food and bottles of wine, while the nearby table football invites a few post-dinner tournaments.
Outside, and there is a large dining table on the Moroccan inspired terrace, perfect for enjoying food in the warm sunshine. And, while the grown ups stretch lunch out into the afternoon, there is plenty to keep the younger ones occupied. A giant game of draughts, swing ball and outdoor table tennis are sure to keep the competitive natured content for hours.
When it's time for bed, you'll find the four bedrooms all equally luxurious. There are two generous king-size rooms, one double and one twin. Hotel mattresses dressed in crisp white linens and black-out blinds on the windows ensure a good night's sleep, while vintage furnishings and pretty wallpaper add a boutique charm to every room.
The master bedroom comes with a stunning en-suite, while the family bathroom boasts a freestanding, roll top bath, for long, indulgent soaks away from it all. Downstairs is a further bathroom with a rainfall shower, perfect for cleaning off the sand after a day at the beach.
St Maur is superbly located for the River Dart, atmospheric Dartmoor and the beautiful beaches of the south Devon coast. Catch the steam train to Buckfastleigh or visit the animals of Paignton Zoo. Totnes itself is a lovely town to hang out, browse independent shops and enjoy some great food. Favourites include Ben's Farm Shop for supplies, The Bay Horse for ale and The Bull for delicious, well-sourced meals.

Leave a reviewWe stayed at St Maur for a weekend for a family 70th birthday celebration. From 4yrs old to 70yrs old, we all absolutely loved it. The house is stunning and so well equiped. From phone chargers by the beds to plenty of plates, glasses and cutlery in the kitchen, there was everything we needed, and more. There was so much space and the decor was so beautiful. The children loved the toys and books and we all had fun on the table football table. We had a lovely day wandering in Totness on the saturday, followed by a private chef coming to the house to cook us dinner. They were also very impressed with the facilities in the kitchen. Communication with the owners was super efficient and the treats left for us were so thoughtful. I would highly recommend St Maur and can't wait to come back.

What a fantastic place to stay - we had such an amazing time for my Mum's surprise Birthday weekend. Our hosts Shirley and TC were so welcoming and helpful, and the house was so well equipped - a real home from home. The house is also in a great location within walking distance to Totnes. We all had a brilliant time and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you so much. Caroline and family x
