These four luxury cabins at Culdees Castle offer couples a chance to enjoy a magical break in the Scottish countryside, amidst bottomless lochs and ancient forests. They are as inspiring as they are homely, and make for comfy, cosy romantic retreats for two. The cabins sits nicely within its surroundings in the grounds of the striking castle, with Major's Lodge and Drummond Lodge in the woods nearby, and Spiers Lodge overlooking the castle itself. Guests are encouraged to venture out and wander the grounds, taking in the sights and sounds of the area, before retiring back to the privacy and comfort of the cabin.
Before you even step inside, you’re sure to notice the hot tub and fire pit. You can hop in the tub for a relaxing soak whilst breathing in the fresh country air, before getting toasty next to the fire as the evening turns into night. Each lodge also has a BBQ outside, so you can prepare your tasty meals al fresco when the weather is warm. Keep your eyes peeled for the wild deer that roam about the land as you sit and socialise outside, and if you're staying in Spiers Lodge, be sure to enjoy the direct views of the castle, which is currently being restored.
Inside each, you’re provided with a wonderfully designed holiday home that makes great use of its space. Tucked away at one end is the comfy double bed, where you can enjoy a great night’s sleep on the luxurious mattress and wake up to lovely views from the big window at the foot of the bed. There are two comfy seats, where you can sit inside when the weather’s not so great, and at the opposite end to the bed is a quaint kitchenette. There’s also a modern bathroom, which has a shower, WC, and basin.
Spiers Lodge and Horton Lodge are the larger of the four, with extra space for you to spread out and relax. Major's Lodge is a hunting style lodge and has a beautiful natural wood interior that's furnished with plaid prints and industrial fittings. And finally Drummond Lodge has a botanical garden theme with a crisp white interior and plenty of greenery.
The owners are able to make your stay extra special with a number of packages that can be tailored to your needs. You could opt for a selection of luxury, food and drink hampers with all of the products either sourced on site or from local artisanal suppliers. You can also immerse yourself into the Scottish culture by arranging experiences such as whiskey tours, waterfall walks, glass blowing and local crafts.
You’re also a short drive from the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, which is a vast expanse of mountains, water and countryside. This national park is ideal for walking, climbing, cycling and sailing, so there really is something for everyone! Golf is also big in the area with a local course and Gleneagles Golf Course only four miles away. You're also located just outside the pretty village of Muthill which has an award winning restaurant, a local pub, takeaway pizza and local ice cream. Whilst the historic town of Crieff is also a short drive away and has an array of artisan shops, galleries, coffee shops, restaurants and bars.
