The Details

Hidden away beneath the legendary slopes of Dunsinane Hill, Macbeth’s Bothy feels like a storybook cabin brought to life. Rustic, romantic and deeply atmospheric, this handcrafted hideaway invites you to step into a world far removed from everyday life. From the moment you enter through its theatrically designed porch, there’s a sense of calm and wonder, a place where the beauty of natural materials, soft candlelight and rich Scottish heritage come together in perfect harmony.

Inside, every detail has been chosen to heighten the sense of warmth and comfort. The main living space combines a sumptuous king size bed draped in Egyptian cotton linen with a cosy lounge area made for slow mornings and peaceful evenings. A Roberts radio hums softly in the background while the scent of wood and linen fills the air. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for a leisurely breakfast or a relaxed supper cooked at your own pace. After days spent exploring the hills, the ensuite shower room is a welcome retreat, stocked with luxurious MODM and Laura Thomas toiletries.

Step through the French doors and you’ll find the most magical touch, a fairytale bath house with an elegant copper tub where you can sink beneath the bubbles beneath the open sky. Light the lanterns and stay out long into the evening, letting the quiet of the countryside wrap around you. Beyond the cabin, a little gate leads to a private sundowner spot, complete with deck chairs and a firepit, perfect for toasting marshmallows and watching the sunset over the fields.

Macbeth’s Bothy sits within the stunning Dunsinnan Estate, a landscape rich with Scottish history and natural beauty. Wander through ancient woodlands, hike across heather-covered hills or trace the footsteps of legend on Dunsinane itself. The surrounding Strathmore Valley and Sidlaw Hills are a haven for walkers, photographers and dreamers alike, a place to breathe deeply, slow down and reconnect with nature in the most magical of settings.
