This charming, architect designed holiday home is eco friendly, spacious and sits in some beautiful rolling farmland, where it blends effortlessly with its surroundings thanks to its pretty stone exterior. Sleek and contemporary, Sheepfold has a modern, elegant and minimalist design mixed in with rustic features, to create a unique space that has plenty of character. Open living spaces, comfy bedrooms and nicely fitted bathrooms ensure that you’re as comfortable as possible. There’s also clever technology throughout which ensures that Sheepfold is super energy efficient, allowing you to enjoy your stay that little bit more.
Mostly spread out over one floor, this property makes great use of its space as well as the materials it’s made from and there are large areas of glass throughout, letting in plenty of natural light. As you enter, you walk into a large open-plan living space, which has sun doors that open up onto your private terrace. In the lounge area you have a big comfy sofa, a flat-screen TV with a DVD player, a wood burning stove and other stylish furnishings, proving that every last detail has been cleverly thought out. The modern, contemporary kitchen connects seamlessly with the dining space and has all of the fittings you could want to cook up some lovely Cornish produce. The dining area is comfortable and can easily seat eight people, however, when the sun is shining you can enjoy al fresco dining on the patio. The garden is big with a sheltered barbecue space and great views.
There is a comfortable en-suite double bedroom on the ground floor, along with a bunk room with four bunk beds and a climbing wall, perfect for kids! There’s also a nice family bathroom on the ground floor with a big bath and a shower and upstairs sits one more double, attic-style room. Throughout the property are pretty features from subtle textures and colours to cleverly up-cycled furniture and hand turned door handles.
You can take a stroll from Sheepfold along footpaths across a number of fields until you hit the fantastic South West Coast Path, which you can explore in both directions. The nearest beach by foot is the quaint and charming Porth Mear, which is accessed across boardwalks through a wetland conservation area. This is a lovely little beach that is great fun for kids who can spend hours playing amongst the rock pools. Another short walk takes you to the next hamlet of Engollan, which is home to the St Eval Candle factory and outlet shop which is well worth a visit. You’re also sat between the charming harbour town of Padstow and the popular tourist beaches of Newquay, both of which are a short drive away.
