Penveron is a detached, self catering holiday cottage with stunning views over the Dart Estuary. The house has been refurbished to a very high standard, and beautifully fuses the features of this traditional, Devonshire cottage with simple, yet stylish modern design. And you’ll find Dittisham one of the prettiest and most unspoilt villages within the South Hams.
Inside you’ll find three bedrooms, one shower room and one family bathroom. The third bedroom has a 2'6" truckle bed providing accommodation for the sixth guest, and is suitable for a child. The kitchen is fully equipped and comes with a Miele ceramic hob and oven, microwave/combination oven, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and a tumble dryer. And once you’ve cooked, step into the spacious dining room and push back the bi-fold doors to enjoy the evening light and plenty of fresh Devon air with your dinner.
The living room boasts stunning views down to the Dart Estuary, and you can spend plenty of time watching the boats come and go, and on cool evenings warm up next to the open fire. On the technology front there’s Wi-Fi throughout, plus Digital TV, a DVD player and a CD player.
Outside enjoy a fully enclosed, front and rear garden front garden and a terrace, which all works great with kids. There’s even use of an additional field for ball games and whatever other activities you’d like nearby.
The village boasts a riverside tearoom, a well stocked village store and the opportunity to hire a variety of boats to explore the upper reaches of River Dart. For the young, and the young at heart, Dittisham is the perfect place for 'crabbing' - lines and bait are available at the tearooms! From Dartmouth, it is possible to take river trips up to the picturesque town of Totnes, and a wonderful steam train carries passengers from Kingswear on the opposite bank of the river, across to Paignton. The historic town of Dartmouth is also only five miles away and boasts a glorious selection of pubs. During the summer months, a passenger ferry service to Dartmouth operates on the hour, perfect if you want to escape the car. A further ferry, summoned by ringing a large brass ship's bell on the sea wall, takes passengers across to Greenway - former home of Agatha Christie. The nearest beach is Blackpool Sands, a beautiful pebble beach with good facilities and well known in the South Hams area, the nearest sandy beach is Slapton Sands and the nearest surfing beach is Bigbury on Sea which is a 45 minute drive.
