  The Detail...

Ideal for couples, friends, families, and fishing buddies, Oak Retreat offers a comfy glamping spot nestled above the River Usk in the Brecon Beacon National Park. This marvellous getaway sits in an idyllic slice of nature away from roads and footpaths allowing you to rest and recuperate in peace and tranquility. Spend your days out walking the routes and trails of Powys, or sitting by the river's edge waiting for the fish to bite, before retiring back to your cosy cabin for a peaceful night amidst the trees.

The Oak Retreat has a modern, contemporary feel, whilst maintaining its rural charm. Comfy furnishings have been carefully selected, ensuring you can relax in style. The cabin has an ensuite loo and shower room, as well as quaint kitchenette that's equipped for simple cooking. There's also a large outdoor sink and food preparation area. On arrival guests are provided with the basics of bread, butter, eggs, milk, tea, coffee and sugar. You are also able to order a Glanusk Hamper filled with additional treats. There's an outdoor dining table, allowing you to eat al fresco, whether that's some locally sourced produce, or your day's catch from the River Usk.

In the evenings light up the firepit and stay cosy near the flames as the stars come out above. This is a great spot to sit with a glass of wine or a nice cold beer in the company of your loved ones late into the night.

This quaint cabin has several bed configurations which can be altered depending on your requirements. There are twin beds that can be made into a double, as well as a fold out sofa bed which can be used by kids or an additional adult. Guests are also allowed to bring a tent with them which they can pitch on the wonderful grassy spot next to Oak Retreat, allowing an extra two guests to join you.

Oak Retreat sits on the grounds of the amazing Glanusk Estate. The Estate is nicely located for a range of specialist sporting activities such as trout and salmon fishing, pheasant shooting, wild duck flighting and clay shooting. The Estate also hosts a number of events throughout the year including Glanusk Estate Fayre and NGS Open Gardens, Glanusk Fun Ride, and Green Man Music Festival. Sarah says...
"I would highly recommend Oak Retreat. The accommodation is in a very lovely spot on the beautiful estate. I stayed with my three children who loved the wild river swimming and the lovely walks. The Retreat is well equipped and the fire pit was brilliant for BBQ's. Harry was incredibly helpful both with enquiries before our stay and during. There's a lovely welcome pack of eggs and other bits when you arrive and Crickhowell itself is lovely. We had a wonderful two night stay and will definitely be returning."
