Each tent combines the rustic, eco-friendly practicalities of a campsite, with super-comfy, stylish furnishings to guarantee you an enjoyable break. These tents offer friends, couples, and families the chance to enjoy the luxury of a boutique hotel with the comforts of home, all under canvas.
Beautiful beds offer a great night's sleep, whilst roaring campfires ensure that you can stay toasty long into the evening. The tents even come with their own en suite bathrooms, that are complete with hot running water, a flushing loo, a power shower, and a basin. So you really are spoiled when it comes to amenities.
By the Wye has five different safari tents for you to choose from. First up is The Cwtch. This tent sleeps two adults with room for one infant in a cot. It has a delightful open plan living space with handmade four poster bed that's straight out of a fairytale. The space also has an en-suite bathroom and kitchen, and a large deck extending out above the River Wye.
Next up is Holly. This sleeps two to five guests and has space for one infant in a cot. The Ivy can sleep two to five guests and also has space for one infant in a cot. This tent also has two bedrooms, consisting of one double and one double with single above. Again there's an en-suite bathroom and a kitchen, and the tent also has plenty of outside eating space and decking. It also has a BBQ instead of a firepit for outside cooking.

If you wish, you may want to book one of By The Wye's luxury tree tents as additional accommodation to allow for slightly larger groups. These sit perched above the forest floor up in the canopy and offer yet more amazing river views. The tree tents sleep two guests, making them the ideal location for your next romantic break.
The campsite itself is cosy, comfortable and environmentally friendly. Entirely off-grid, the site makes use of Solar Energy and generators and is designed to minimise its impact on the environment in the surrounding woodland, with some areas having been left untouched. This means you may be lucky enough to see some lovely wildlife during your stay, as an array of critters come passing by.
The campsite is a short hop from the amazing town of Hay on Wye. Located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Hay on Wye well known as The Town of Books, and hosts the annual Hay Literary Festival. However, you also have a number of lovely, charming cafes, pubs, and shops on offer, so be sure to go for a wander around the town. Lovers of the great outdoors are also spoiled for choice when it comes to walking routes, with two national trails, the Offa’s Dyke path and the Wye Valley trail, passing right through the town. You have the protected countryside of the Brecon Beacons National Park on your doorstep too, so make sure you pack your hiking boots. There is also a place to hire canoes a five minute walk away.

Thank you so much. We had a really relaxing few days, staying in one of your beautiful Safari tents near the meadow. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the river and waking to the sound of birdsong all around us. We appreciated the well-designed simplicity, yet cosy-feel of the tent and the huge, covered balcony where we spent most of our time looking out at the river and watching our happy children wading and watching out for wildlife. A great location too - feeling tucked away in the wild yet only being a few minutes walk away from the town and its lovely shops, cafes & pubs. A very warm and welcoming place all round! We definitely hope to come back again soon. Dan, you were a great host too during our stay, so thank you.
