Deep in the Cairngorms National Park, No.2. Braemar is a magnificent 4-bedroom holiday home, ideal for special occasions and get-togethers. In the centre of Braemar village, itself surrounded by mountains, glens and forests, the house has an unforgettably scenic setting.
Wonderfully cosy, No.2 Braemar has instant appeal. It will be hard to resist hunkering down in the lounge with its wooden floors, chunky leather armchairs and warming wood burner, and enjoying a book or a chat with friends. High quality soft furnishings and accessories add the finishing touches to a hygge-like experience, with a lovely mountain view outside your window.
You have a separate snug, plus entertainment from two Freesat TVs with Netflix and Amazon Prime, plus fast Wi-Fi. The kitchen is a sleek affair with plenty of space, and features a large Rangemaster oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, wine cooler… you name it.
The dining area is a fine place to entertain, with a large wooden parquet table. Nearby you’ll spot a pair of armchairs facing the window – the ideal spot to settle in for some stargazing when night falls, and the telescope is provided too.
There are three bedrooms with king-size beds at No.2 Braemar, one of which has the added luxury of a free-standing roll-top bath. In addition, there’s a twin bedroom ideal for children, and if you need an extra child’s bed or cot, that can be provided too. You have three bathrooms upstairs, and a cloakroom with WC downstairs.
And, as if all that wasn’t enough, step outside and you’ll find a secluded back garden, a south-facing patio area for dining or relaxing, and a summer house (once a weather observatory), with a comfy seating area inside. There is a lovely view of the village and mountains from the front lawn too.
Braemar is a favourite with visitors, so it has plenty of cafés and restaurants to keep you well-fed, as does the neighbouring village of Ballater, just a 3-minute drive away. An area just made for walking, cycling, fishing and golf, there is no shortage of ways to make the most of the Cairngorms scenery. And if that all sounds a bit too energetic, there’s always a whisky trail to keep you occupied.

We were blown away by the way no.2 has been appointed. The eye for detail is simply amazing; from the cosy comforts like the wood burners to the top-end culinary infrastructure. The beds are the most comfortable we have slept in and the pillows are awesome. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance from the golf course and hiking tracks. No.2 is a must stay!
