Made from sustainably sourced Scandinavian pine and powered by renewable energy, Netherton Farm Lodge is located around 15 miles from Aberdeen and boasts lovely views with a rustic yet luxurious feel. It’s the perfect place for up to five people to explore the beautiful landscapes of Scotland.
As you step into the Netherton Farm Lodge, expect to be wowed by the open-plan kitchen-living-dining area. Huge glass windows, skylights and patio doors bathe the natural wood decor in swathes of natural light and showcase views over the Scottish countryside. In the colder months, the log burner, animal hide rugs and plush sofas make it the perfect, cosy spot to warm cold bones after a day of exploring the wilds of Scotland. In warmer times, slide open the patio doors and relax in the large, enclosed garden with a drink and a bite. The fully-fitted farmhouse-style kitchen is the ideal spot to create culinary delights, morning, noon and night. Whether it’s a warming stew or a summer salad, there’s everything you need to fill up an empty stomach. Tea, coffee and essential local produce are provided when you arrive.
As the night draws in, a grand central staircase leads you to the plush upstairs bedrooms. Each room boasts a king size bed with thick duvets, soft pillows and luxury sheets. The Macduff room also features a single bed for little ones. Cleanse after a long day in one of the ensuite bathrooms. Sink into the freestanding, roll-top bath and let the stresses of modern life soak away, or refresh in the mornings in the walk-in shower. Both ensuite bathrooms come with high-quality towels and robes, as well as natural shower products, soaps and homemade bath salts.
Surrounded by mountains, lochs, glens and castles, Aberdeenshire is the perfect place to get outdoors. The area offers great opportunities for adventure tourism. Explore the rugged peaks, hiking trails, lochs and mountain biking of the Cairngorms National Park. Keen anglers are treated to superb salmon and trout fishing on the Rivers Dee, Don and Deveron. Fetternear estate has 2 ½ miles of fishing on the river Don, one of the best, wild, brown trout rivers in Scotland. while deer Deer stalking is also very popular in the National Park.
History buffs will be in their element. Netherton Farm Lodge is located on the famous Castle Trail, a collection of over 300 castles in the area including Castle Fraser, and the Balmoral Estate and 5 minutes walk to the ruins of the 13th Century Bishops of Aberdeen Summer Palace. No visit to Scotland would be complete without a visit to a distillery. Explore offerings from famous names such as Glenfiddich, Strathisla, Macallan, Aberlour, Glenfarclas or Glen Garioch. Finally, as the home of golf, the local area boasts over 60 fantastic courses, including the famous Royal Aberdeen.
