Wind turbine
Ramble through the flourishing fields of Derbyshire’s lush, rural farmland and with a little bit of luck you’ll stumble upon these quirky glamping havens. Overlooking the rolling pastures of a working local farm, they are unique hideouts that have a down-to-earth charm. Their curved, hobbit-like exterior captures the magic of the landscape, while their country setting is the perfect backdrop for adventure. Stroll through the tree-lined meadows or across the cattle-dotted fells, or down to the beautiful Carsington reservoir or to the Peak District hills.
The three Mulino Pods – Damson, Bluebell and Lavender - have all been thoughtfully furnished and are warm and cosy in any season. Nestled on Mulino Lodge Farm on the edge of the Peak District, they each have their own private, picturesque spot in the heart of Mother Nature. Purposefully designed to blend in with their natural habitat, they have cedar clad exteriors with eco-friendly extras. A wind turbine provides electricity throughout, while the thick insulation will keep the cold weather out. Free Wi-Fi brings things right up to date and will keep the kids entertained on those rainy, winter days.
Inside, the pods have room for up to two, or four on a comfy double bed and bunk beds in Lavender Pod. Their quality wood floors are homely underfoot, while a small cupboard holds those everyday comforts. Complete with a mini fridge, kettle and two-slice toaster, you can enjoy a morning cup of tea from the warmth of your duvet. Large French doors even open out onto a stunning terrace where you can dine beneath the stars or watch the dewy, morning sunrise.
Beyond your pod, you’ll find all sorts of camping extras, including two modern bathrooms with hot water showers and flushing toilets. A drinking water tap can be found just outside your pod, along with a shared outdoor kitchen a little further on. Equipped with a BBQ, gas hobs and plenty of running water, the communal kitchen has everything you could ask for. There is also a spacious, shared lounge that has a selection of activities, including board games, books and maps of the area.
The farm is located near the small village of Kniveton and is well-positioned for exploring the local countryside. There are an abundance of walks and hikes to discover, along with the epic trails in the dramatic Peak District Mountains. The historic town of Ashbourne is also just a few miles away, along with the bustling cities of Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield.
