Imposing and magnificent with its manicured grounds, Milton Lodge is a Georgian style country house that is available to rent on a self-catered basis, with comfortable space for up to twelve guests between seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. Situated in one of the most stunning and diverse regions of Highland Scotland, Milton Lodge is a dream holiday for anybody with an interest in hiking, skiing, mountain biking, wild swimming, bird-watching, salmon fishing, deer stalking, or any other mainstay of outdoors rural life.
The house itself sits in a fabulous location and is perched on the edge of the beautiful River Spey. The property is wonderfully presented, with stylish fittings, an authentic, elegant charm, and lots of space for multiple generations, or multi-family parties. Although the house comes with an aga and top of the range cooking facilities in the kitchen, many parties choose to bring a chef, with the accommodation ideally laid out to suit this. The kitchen forms the social heart of the building, and includes a twelve-person dining table which works well for celebratory meals as well as more casual, low-key family meals. Off this space you'll find the sun-drenched conservatory with its access out into the splendid garden.
Aside from these central, sociable spaces, you'll find plenty of additional rooms for other activities, like a light filled drawing room with mountain views, a sitting room with an open fire and television, and even a games room, popular with the younger generations for its additional television, Xbox, ping pong table, and a pool table, ideal for tournaments.
The bedrooms are set up as five king sized rooms and another twin and super-king, with the twin room and one of the kings sharing a bathroom, and the other bedrooms each having an en-suite bathroom for added privacy. Every bedroom boasts views of the grounds, gardens, and wooded estate and mountains beyond, making Milton Lodge a real delight to wake up in each morning.
Milton Lodge is part of the renowned Ralia Estate, and is situated right in the middle of the Cairngorm National Park, a stunningly beautiful and rugged area of hilly wilderness, beautiful in every season. The area is host to osprey, deer, and a number of rare birds, as well as being one of very few British areas where red squirrels can be found. As well as hunting and fishing, this is a paradise for birdwatching, walking, and a variety of outdoor pursuits.
Situated in the heart of distillery country, guests can venture out and take enjoy a day on one of the nearby whisky trails. Milton Lodge's local distillery is the Dalwhinnie distillery, that is the highest in Scotland at 352 metres above sea level and offers fab tours and a range of delicious whiskies.
