Set in 200 acres of private land, Middleton Lodge offers guests a variety of beautiful, ornate places to stay from the large, main house, built in 1780, to the charming farmhouse, and the wonderful Coach House hotel.

Whichever of the three you choose, you’re guaranteed a relaxing stay in a truly stunning estate that sits in the heart of some breathtaking English countryside.

The main house, which is still home to the Allison family, is available to hire privately, and comfortably sleeps large groups across five lavish suites, and 11 luxurious bedrooms. This gorgeous, Georgian home has everything you’ll need for a fantastic stay including the library bar, billiards room, drawing room, grand dining room, and even the cosy late night cellar bar, where you can party into the early hours.

After a day enjoying everything this house has to offer, guests are guaranteed an amazing night’s sleep in one of the many supremely comfortable, luxurious bedrooms. Ornate furnishings, lovely comfy mattresses, and big windows opening up onto the picturesque grounds, ensure you can relax and unwind in style.

The Coach House is a mini hotel with nine bedrooms, all of which are great for couples looking to escape to the country. All of the bedrooms have original Georgian touches, and calming, cool design features. There are also wonderful bathrooms, complete with deep free-standing baths, and a lovely shared living area for residents, which is great for socialising.

Those of you looking for some classic rural charm may want to opt for the Farmhouse. This six bedroom house has plenty of rustic character, from exposed beams to stone walls, and plenty of room for spending time with loved ones. The old wooden dining table comfortably seats eight, meaning family dinners in are a joy.

Guests who don’t fancy cooking, however, can make use of the wonderful on-site restaurant that sits within the estate. The Coach House Restaurant is a relaxed, stylish eating space with a delightful breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu, that makes use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, allowing you to enjoy a fabulous meal in style.

If you want some added luxury, then be sure to make use of the many treatment rooms on the estate. There are a variety of hand-picked holistic treatments on offer from massages to manicures and everything in-between, all of which can be booked in advance.

You may have just as a relaxing time wandering the pretty courtyard gardens at Middleton Lodge, which are filled with lavender, apple trees, rosemary and more. If you wish to venture further afield, then Middleton Lodge is just five minutes from Richmond, ten minutes from Tees Valley Airport, and 40 minutes from Newcastle.
