This charming hideaway sits within the leafy grounds of Hearthside Park Road. This beautiful annex, known as Lud’s Snug, was inspired by the mystical beauty of Lud’s Church in the Peak District. Lud’s Snug is a three-bedroom retreat that blends character and comfort to create a stay that feels both magical and homely. Perfect for couples or small families, it’s a place designed for cosy moments and memorable escapes.
Step inside and you’ll discover the home’s clever upside-down design. The main living area sits on the upper floor beneath the pitched roof, where exposed angles and warm light create a space full of charm. Gather around the dining table for long, laughter-filled dinners or curl up on the sofa for a movie night on the Smart TV with Sky. With puzzles, board games and books at hand, evenings here can be as lively or as low-key as you wish.
The kitchen and dining space is thoughtfully laid out, providing everything you’ll need to prepare family favourites or relaxed dinners after a day of exploring. Share meals while looking out towards the trees and let the peace of the setting sink in.
Downstairs, you’ll find three welcoming bedrooms. Two feature snug double beds dressed in soft linens, offering a restful night’s sleep. The third, a versatile day room with twin singles, can easily double as a quiet home office if needed. A modern shower room completes the space, adding a touch of convenience to your stay.
Throughout, thoughtful details ensure Lud’s Snug lives up to its name, creating an atmosphere that’s warm, intimate and easy to enjoy.
When the mood strikes to venture out, the natural world of the Peak District is right on your doorstep, with walks, trails and views that will leave you inspired. A short walk or drive from Hearthside brings you to the dramatic depths of Poole’s Cavern, thrilling treetop adventures at Go Ape, the tranquil Pavilion Gardens and the immersive Crescent Experience. Rainy days are perfect for catch-ups at the Pavilion Cinema or indulgence at Buxton Crescent Spa, while Buxton Country Park, the Monsal Trail, Lud’s Church, Buxton Brewery and Buxton Opera House offer charm, scenery and local flavour.
