Slow down and get back to nature at Loose Reins, a collection of luxurious lodges and cabins surrounded by the Dorset countryside.
Each bespoke wood-panelled Cedar Cabin sleeps four people and is perfect for a family getaway. The living areas have little touches everywhere, such as faux furs and fleeces and Victorian light shades, to give that truly authentic feel.
The fully-equipped kitchen, complete with woodburner, fridge, oven and hob, is ideal for rustling up a family meal before enjoying it in the indoor dining area, or watching the wildlife out on the porch in a custom-made rocking chair.
Snuggle down under American quilts and Egyptian cotton sheets in the king-size master bedroom, while the seats in the living area fold down into beds to accommodate two more people. Each cabin also comes with a private bathroom with a shower.
All lodges and cabins come with their own wood-fired eco hot tub.
If a bit more space is required then there are also three Pioneer Lodges tucked on the edge of the woods, which each sleep six people. Here the large living area with armchairs, sofa and woodburner is perfect for cosy nights in and once again there is a fully-equipped kitchen.
A king-size bedroom, twin bedroom and double cabin bed in the third bedroom ensures plenty of options for sleeping arrangements. The large deck is perhaps the best bit, with your own private viewing platform across the beautiful surroundings.
Getting out into the countryside is what Loose Reins is all about and the guests can either relax in the stunning environment, or adventure out into the hills and woodland. Head into the encompassing Blackmore Vale - a designated area of outstanding natural beauty - or take the short 45-minute drive to the Jurassic coast.
The Royal Signals Museum, Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum and a number of National Trust sites are all close by too, as are the Langham Wine Estate and Goldhill Organics for those food and drink lovers.

Leave a reviewIt was absolutely lovely. I went for a weekend treat for me and my daughter. My daughter had the bunk bed, and I had the (wonderfully comfortable) double. The cabin was warm, with the little woodburner and there was plenty of wood available. We enjoyed the hot tub - it takes a while to heat up, but that's part of the charm of a slow weekend! Really special. Thank you.
