The Detail...
Lose yourself in Perthshire’s sublime, Highland scenery with a stay at this luxurious 5-bed home on the tranquil Loch Tay shoreline. Perched in the forest hillsides, above the silent, glassy waters, Loch Tay House is part of a majestic, natural tapestry. Look out for the lush, enchanted woodlands and the rugged mountain peaks, along with the atmospheric skies and secluded, pebble beaches. There’s a bubbling, outdoor hot tub and manicured greens, where you can watch serene, mountain sunsets and starry, moonlit sheens.
The turreted stone house is nestled on an award-winning, holiday estate, amongst 140 acres of untouched landscapes. Hidden behind towering palm trees and ancient ferns, it offers absolute privacy from the outside world.
Inside, upside-down interiors make the most of the stunning backdrop and offer spacious, first floor living with panoramic, rural vistas. Each room has been finished with an exquisite attention to detail and boasts an array of beautiful natural materials and plush home comforts. Expect natural wood floors and exposed stone walls, along with beamed ceilings, glass panes and handcrafted artwork.
Rest in the sophisticated living room with its glass-panelled wall, sinking into the velvet sofas around the massive, stone hearth. An open doorway leads through to the family dining room, while a contemporary kitchen is perfect for rustling up some of the delicious, local food. Unwind on the calming, wraparound balconies or in the loch-view hot tub, following the garden path down to the Lochside summerhouse. A cosy cinema snug is on hand for relaxing evenings and is a peaceful way to end a day of exploring.
The five gorgeous bedrooms are scattered across the two floors and include three sumptuous doubles and two relaxed twins. Each has been styled with minimalist whites and has uber-comfy beds and crisp, designer linen. Four of the rooms have their own modern en-suites, while the master room even has its own steaming, hot sauna.
Step beyond the house to discover Scotland’s unrivalled natural beauty, fishing on the loch or heading out for adventure. There are a wealth of activities to be found in and around the estate, including kayaking, sailing and wildlife safaris. Hike up the Ben Lawers mountains or visit the idyllic Falls of Dochart, stopping off at the estate’s Bistro Restaurant with views across the marina. The pretty village of Killin is also just three miles away, while Edinburgh and Glasgow are worth a day trip.
