Set on a private lane, Leonard Stanley House is a glorious Georgian country retreat that has been renovated to stay true to its original heritage. Elegant wooden panelling, original fireplaces, graceful ceilings and character details create a home filled with charm and personality and an ideal location for special get-togethers and celebrations
The formal living room boasts deep leather chesterfield sofas, timber floorboards, an original fireplace and floor-to-ceiling sash windows with wooden shutters, providing an elegant setting for pre-dinner drinks or sophisticated chat.
Taking centre stage in the fabulous dining room is the magnificent, bespoke dining table which is highlighted by an impressive chandelier to turn every meal into an occasion. A decorative marble fireplace lends a further air of grandeur to your dinner parties.
A modern stylish kitchen diner has everything needed to create delicious meals. A casual dining area forms one half of the space with a rustic wooden table, bench, and chairs while the well-equipped kitchen is on the opposite side of the chimney breast.
The snug is a relaxing space with comfy sofas, beanbags and a wall-mounted smart TV. Chill out with a film or choose from a selection of games to while away rainy days. This leads on to the games room where you’ll find table football and a Space Invaders machine so you’ll find something to entertain you whatever your tastes. A peaceful garden room looks over the garden through double doors and is a tranquil spot to enjoy some peace and quiet.
Nine elegant bedrooms named after famous locals are set across two floors and include a selection of super-king, king size and double rooms plus a pair of twin rooms in the attic. All are sumptuously furnished in luxurious fabrics and restful colourways and boast various character features such as sash windows, antique furniture and gorgeous fireplaces. Between bedrooms eight and nine on the large landing, is a comfy sofa, a pair of beanbags and a large smart TV, perfect for teens to get away from it all.
Three of the bedrooms offer beautifully appointed ensuite shower rooms plus there are spacious family bathrooms on each floor, one of which features a spa bath and one with a standalone claw foot bath for long luxurious soaks. Fluffy towels and complimentary high-end toiletries complete the decadent bathing experience.
Beyond the house, you’ll find a gorgeous enclosed garden with flower beds and a collection of impressive and rare trees. An expansive patio runs the length of the house and boasts a huge dining table and chairs where everyone can dine together and enjoy sunset cocktails or lazy lunches. Through the garden gate, the paddock is the ideal spot for a fun game of cricket and there are 70 acres of land to explore.
There are lots of walks directly from the house but despite the rural setting you’ll have easy access to a wealth of amenities. The M5 is less than a 10-minute drive and the shops and restaurants of Stroud are just four miles away. Cotswold treasures such as Tetbury, Highgrove House and Gardens, Painswick, Badminton and Cheltenham Spa are all easily accessible.
