Made just for two, Honeysuckle Cottage sits quietly amid acres of glorious Perthshire countryside. Part of the Outfield Farm estate, a stay at the cottage gives you full access to the wood-fired sauna, gym, tennis courts and all the estate's facilities, plus its miles of woodland walking trails.
The cottage itself is detached and clad with weathered silver larch, blending comfortably into the landscape. Step inside and you'll find the cosiest of living spaces, beautifully decorated in soft, warm tones for a snug and homely feel.
The main room is set up in a cabin-style studio arrangement. At one end is the living and dining area, with smart TV, table for two and two armchairs set in front of the wood burning stove - perfect for putting your feet up after a busy day. At the other end you'll find the sleeping area with double bed, so you can turn out the lights and watch the embers of the fire burn low as you go to sleep.
Off the main living area, the kitchen has been smartly refurbished with a butler's sink and fabulous copper splash-back. It's fully kitted out with everything you need to make anything from toast and coffee to a delicious evening meal.
The neat bathroom comes with a walk-in shower. But if you prefer a bath don't worry, just head outside to find the Hikki Bohemen wood-fired hot tub, where you can soak to your heart's content, illuminated by festoon lamps and the light of the stars.
Also in the garden is a seating area and outdoor dining table, just the spot for dinner and drinks on a warm evening. The patio garden is fully enclosed, so you can relax if you've brought a furry friend along.
If you fancy a leg stretch, there are miles of footpaths straight from your front door. Outfield has acres of fields and woodlands, all criss-crossed with trails, so you can roam free.
For something a little more intense, head to the gym, shared with the handful of other cabins and cottages dotted around the estate. Make use of the water rower, or put in a few miles on the bike or cross-trainer while you enjoy the panoramic Perthshire views through the window. Finish off with a session in the wood-fired sauna and you'll just about be ready for lunch.
Well-placed between Perth and Dundee, both towns are around a 20 minute drive away and offer bustling shops, pubs and restaurants. Beyond is magnificent open country, with the River Tay and the coast within easy reach.
