The Detail...
This elegant cottage is one of Scotland’s best kept secrets. Nestled down a private leafy lane, this gorgeous property has style and tranquility in abundance. The interiors would look right at home in a magazine - seamlessly combining traditional styling with a high-end finish. And with plenty of nods to its Scottish roots, from tartan flourishes to its very own library of Scottish books, you’ll be feeling like a local in no time. Situated in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Edinburgh, there’s plenty to explore - from its famous castle, art galleries and shopping to some of the finest dining available in Scotland.
Head inside this beautiful cottage to discover a sunny south facing lounge. With a cosy fire, pretty tartan textiles and sumptuous seating, this is a great place to immerse yourself in some total relaxation. There’s lots to keep you entertained, from a 40” Smart 4K TV with Freeview, a Blu-ray DVD and Netflix, to board games and a well-stocked library with plenty of Scottish fiction.
The large traditional kitchen is bursting with style, from its characterful units to the gorgeously vibrant pops of pink. It’s not lacking in features either with a range, double oven, Nespresso coffee machine - and some handy cookery books to help inspire you. And the polished granite worktop and Belfast sink keep the finish suitably high-end.
The large dining area is situated next to a very pretty - and very large - window. Giving you fabulous views out over the garden with your morning tea or coffee.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms - one double and one twin (that can be made up as a superking if requested). The rooms are both wonderfully elegant with plush Egyptian cotton linen, gloriously muted colour schemes and rich textiles. And with a choice of firm or soft pillows, it’s obvious that the owners really go the extra mile.
The bathroom is sublime with classic wood panelling, a high-spec rain shower and Scottish Fine Soap toiletries. And plenty of delightfully fluffy towels are provided for your stay.
Outside there is a pretty garden fringed by a beautiful stone wall along one side. With a lovely seating area, it’s the ideal place to sit and breathe in the serenity.
With a bursting festival line-up throughout the year, Edinburgh Castle and the historic architecture of the Old and New towns to be explored, alongside art galleries, museums, theatres and shopping - there's more than enough to keep you busy. And for the foodies out there Edinburgh has loads to offer, from street food markets to fine dining (with no less than four Michelin star restaurants to be found here).
