Enjoy a relaxing break in the Somerset countryside in one of these two beautiful yurts. Located in a wildflower paddock in the grounds of Lower Coxbridge House, guests are able to enjoy some of the best views that this part of the country has to offer. Each yurt is tucked away in its own secluded space, ensuring you've got all the privacy and peace you need for the perfect peaceful glamping break.
The yurts are hand made with locally sourced ash and high quality canvas, they sit on raised wooden platforms, keeping you dry and warm throughout your stay. Tasteful rugs cover the floors, and the interiors have been decked out with stylish hangings and rustic furniture. Battery reading lights are also provided by the bed and glass candle lanterns are in place for that special, romantic feel. You can also stay nice and toasty throughout the night thanks to your own wood-burning stove which has a stove-top kettle for your morning cuppa!
Thanks to their location on this idyllic spot of land, you can relax and be at one with nature. Sit outside in the sunshine with a good book, or stay warm around the fire-pit when the sun goes in. Enjoy the simple but powerful sound of prolific birdsong. Each yurt a has a firepit/bbq with rustic seating and table outdoors, that make al freso dining a joy. This is also a unique spot for your early morning cuppa or a late evening sundowner watching the magnificent sunset behind the Tor.
When it comes to bathroom facilities, each yurt has its own exclusive use shower and compost toilet. You also have access to an outside shared kitchen/hangout shack. We are an eco/low impact property and encourage minimal waste during your stay.
Whilst you may wish to spend all of your time relaxing by the yurt and enjoying the view and the variety of birdlife that can be seen all around, those who do venture out have plenty to see and do. You are situated near to the Mendip Hills and Cranborne Chase, both of which are designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This means you have endless walking and cycling routes nearby, as well as some charming villages and cracking country pubs. You have access to some wonderful wild swimming in the local river and you can take a walk through the Glastonbury Festival Site should you wish. You're also just a short drive from the popular towns of Glastonbury and Wells and the buzzing cities of Bristol, Bath are just an hour away.
