Amidst the beautiful countryside of South Devon on a gorgeous piece of land named Wood Farm, you will find Fern Barn. An original farmyard barn that's approximately 200-years old, the exterior retains its original rustic stone, while interior features original cedar beam trusses. Guests will have access to their own courtyard garden and lawn, while a games room (shared with another property) is sure to keep you amused. Sleeping up to four guests (plus one cot) across two bedrooms, Fern Barn is an idyllic countryside escape for small families or groups of friends. And with fantastic access to some of Southern England's most arresting scenery, what more could you want? Perhaps a swimming pool? Well, there's one of those too.
Fern is an upside-down home, in that the primary communal area is on the first floor, with the bedrooms on the ground. There are two bedrooms in total, each of a stylish and homely disposition - perfect for nodding off after a long and eventful day. The first bedroom functions as a king size or twin and has a tiled ensuite shower room. The second bedroom is a double and boasts both an ensuite wet room and a door to the garden. The spacious courtyard garden is privately enclosed, contains a BBQ and outdoor furniture, and there is even a large lawn that the kids (both big and small) are sure to love. You'll even find a couple of hammocks attached to the trees! The ground floor also offers access to a games room which has a table tennis and foosball table. Tournament, anyone?
Head upstairs to the open-planned living area where you will be greeted by the barn's focal point. The spacious country kitchen comes fully equipped with everything needed to cook a slap-up meal while the dining table comfortably seats six guests. The lounge area has a TV, plenty of comfy seating, and a cosy wood burner. All of this sits beneath the vaulted barn ceiling to offer guests the ultimate space to kick back and relax in the evenings.
Devon is one of the UK's most picturesque regions, making it a favourite of nature lovers, walkers, and cyclists alike. There are numerous beaches dotted round the area too including Slapton Sands and Blackpool Sands. A little to the south you will find the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, while Dartmoor sits to the north. One of the UK's most picturesque National Parks, Dartmoor is the largest area of open country in Southern England. Besides its arresting undulating scenery, activities on offer include rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing and hillwalking. Nearby towns worth visiting include Totnes, Dartmouth, Knightsbridge and Salcombe.
