Fingals Barn is a purpose built holiday home that while relatively modern in its construction, exudes traditional charm from every corner. The barn is situated in a valley behind the River Dart in the beautiful county of Devon.
Built in 1987 using heavy green oak beams and trusses, the exposed wood frame has glazing between the uprights to ensure light floods into the large, open plan living area. The rustic atmosphere has been lovingly crafted through bespoke design, with oriental carpets, antiques, and quirky original artwork found throughout.
The living area is the hub of Fingals Barn and really is a joy to behold. With exposed oak rafters and high ceilings, it is effectively split into three areas. The well equipped kitchen sits at one end, complete with an oven, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, and all the crockery and cutlery needed for enjoying culinary delights. These can be eaten at the large wooden dining table which seats up to eight people, while at the far end of the room is seating area. Comfy sofas and chairs sit in front of the TV and the grand piano. There is also a separate laundry room.
There are three bedrooms in the barn, with the master suite found on the ground floor with a king size bed and an en-suite bathroom. It also has access to its own private patio garden with outdoor furniture. Heading up to the first floor reveals a further twin bedroom with an en-suite toilet and a further double bedroom. These two rooms share the family bathroom with shower over the bath, basin, and WC.
Staying at Fingals Barn means guests have access to the fantastic on-site facilities. There is an indoor swimming pool and a sauna overlooking the stream, as well as a games room with snooker table, and a small gym. In good weather there is the outdoor grass tennis court and croquet lawn. For those who want to venture a little further afield, there are plenty of walks and biking trails to discover - whether it is by the coast, along the river, or through the woods.
Please note: minimum stay for this property is: 2 nights low season & 3 nights high season
