The Details...

This luxurious Victorian villa is set among thousands of acres of beautiful moorland in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The eight bedroom house sleeps up to 16 guests and two further optional annex rooms are available to take the capacity to 20. Fairfield is perfect for celebrations, short breaks, or a get together of family and friends.

Built in the 1840s it has been lovingly restored and refurbished to the highest of standards. The ground floor is the social hub of the property and there are many different spaces to relax in and enjoy. The spacious lounge and dining room seating up to 20 people leads through into the fully equipped kitchen. There is also a further TV room with 55 inch screen and a cosy snug with a wood burning stove.

Heading up to the first floor reveals six of the bedrooms. Five of them are flexible and can be configured with super king size or twin beds depending on the requirements. Five of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms while the sixth has its own bathroom adjacent to it. On the top floor are two further twin bedrooms and these share another bathroom and their own living room. One of these bedrooms has a sofa bed, while there are also two more in the lounge, which are available as optional extras.

Fairfield House is situated in 1.5 acres of landscaped gardens with lawns and mature trees. In the walled garden is the covered entertainment area with a 16-seater outdoor dining table and charcoal barbecue to enjoy even when the weather isn’t perfect. There is also an eight-person hot tub to relax in while taking in the spectacular views over the moors. Finally, there is a games room annex with table tennis, pool table, table football, and X-Box, as well as an outdoor tennis court.

Fairfield sits on the edge of the village of Stanhope, with pubs, cafes and shops as well as the Durham Dales visitor Centre just a few of minutes walk from the front door. The house is only 21 miles from the historic city of Durham (a World Heritage site) and 35 miles from buzzing Newcastle, yet is surrounded by the North Pennines and all the walks and bike trails that offers.
