On the banks of the River Eamont, this five-bedroom lodge in the Lake District provides large groups and families with a truly special dwelling in a spectacular part of the world. Surrounded by gorgeous green grounds and right on the edge of one of the largest lakes in the area, Ullswater, this property is perfect for those looking to get some quality bonding time while being in the heart of some of the UK's most epic scenery. And thanks to its modern refurb, this lakeland retreat has everything needed for a relaxing, cosy and comfortable stay for up to 12 guests.
The origins of this building date back to the late 18th century as the official entrance to a grand estate. Since then, the property has been built upon to make the most of its original features, while benefitting from some contemporary touches for modern day living. Spread out across two wings, the majority of its rooms have views across the lovely grounds and the river, so guests have a constant reminder of where they are. There are five magnificent bedrooms and bathrooms, four reception rooms, a games room, cinema and a sun room. There are also two garages to keep cars tucked up nicely too!
The well equipped, spacious kitchen has all of the amenities you'll need to prepare delicious meals, which you can enjoy on the large dining table that has space for your entire group. Each of the bedrooms is equally grand and stylish, with big comfy beds and lovely views. After a long day out exploring the Lake District, enjoy a relaxing soak in one of the luxury, freestanding bath tubs before heading down to the cosy lounge for a drink.
When it comes to socialising, the wood burning stove in the sitting room will keep everyone nice and toasty during the colder months, while the garden terrace and grounds are wonderful for families in the summer. Enjoy movie nights in the cinema, play a game of pool in the games room or find a quiet nook in one of the reception rooms to relax on your own with a book. When it's warm out, you may also want to spread out and enjoy the sun in the pretty lawned garden.
The property also has an adjoining paddock, meaning guests can bring their horse with them if they wish. Just contact the owners in advance to arrange this.
The Lake District is famously known for its mountains, large bodies of water and picturesque scenery at every turn, and Eusemere Lodge places itself perfectly for guests to enjoy everything it has to offer. Ullswater is around nine miles long, with walking trails, scenic roads and boat trips aplenty in order to take in its breathtaking beauty. The region is speckled with traditional rural pubs and quaint towns and villages that are typical of the area. Visits can be as action-packed or laid-back as required. No matter the age group, Eusemere Lodge will surely provide a memorable base to explore the majestic Lake District.
