Set at the foot of the famous Pen-y-fan mountain in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Danyfan Carriage is a converted railway carriage that sleeps two guests in rustic charm, comfort and luxury. Beside a running stream, the surroundings are peaceful and romantic, making it the ideal hideaway for couples. Everything has been thought of to ensure you can feel right at home in this delightful glamping carriage.
Surprisingly spacious inside, there is a comfortable double bed, a wood-burning stove to cosy up to in the evenings, and even a little seating area to relax in. The carriage has been decorated with a unique and quirky style, with the majority of the furniture being upcycled or recycled, doing right by the environment. It is powered by solar electricity, with a fridge for keeping essentials cold, as well as a gas hob and grill for cooking on. The wood-burning stove ensures the space is kept nice and warm throughout the year and guests can even make use of hot water bottles to stay extra toasty at night.
Outside, there is a private deck with mountain views, home to a fire pit and barbecue that makes spending time outside a real joy. The exhilarating shower can be found outside, with hot running water and a curtain for privacy, and there is an eco compost toilet just steps away from the carriage itself.
Aptly named, 'dan-y-fan' actually translates from Welsh to 'under the mountain'. This delightful glamping cabin sits ear the foot of one of the highest mountains in the UK, Pen-y-fan. You and your loved one may wish to spend the day hiking the mountain, which in itself is an impressive feat whilst offering amazing views. There is also a lot to be said for simply relaxing and gazing up at this awe-inspiring peak.
Nearby, guests will find the market town of Brecon, which has a really nice array of pubs, eateries and shops. The Brecon Beacons National Park is just a short drive away and offers up many walking trails with views of numerous waterfalls in all their glory. Be sure to venture out and explore while breathing in the fresh forest air and marvelling at the stunning setting you find yourself in.
