The detail

Sitting in the picturesque Pembrokeshire countryside overlooking the ancient Preseli Hills is Damselfly. This glamping experience has all the character and tranquillity that is ideal for those wishing to dust off the cobwebs of urban life and get back in touch with nature. Its double shepherd's huts - lovingly handcrafted by the owners - occupy their own sizeable private section of a six-acre smallholding, so you're sure to have the perfect amount of privacy.

With its gorgeously bedecked interior, romantic garden pond area, abundant wildlife, and stunning surrounding countryside, guests will wonder why they are only just discovering this Cambrian delight.

Damselfly's interior offers a simple and old-fashioned aesthetic, perfectly designed for optimum comfort and cosiness. You get two beautiful interconnected huts just for you, one housing a luxurious bedroom and living area, and the other the bathroom and kitchen.

The bedroom hut comes with a luxury double bed, radio, two chairs, a folding table, and a crackling wood-burner - however, insulation is superb, ensuring that this is only required on the coldest of winter days. Storage space will be more than ample to hold your clothes and various sundries.

The nearside hut houses the bathroom and kitchen. Both have all the necessary mod-cons, with the bathroom having a toilet, sink and shower, and the kitchen containing a fridge, sink, cooking appliances, toaster, and a kettle. Tea, coffee and Barabrith (a traditional Welsh cake) are all provided by the generous owners.

Outside you will be welcomed by the lovely wildlife garden, complete with its own pond. Why not sit on the adjacent bench with a nice beverage and admire the damselflies? The garden also has its very own fire-pit and BBQ area, ideal for taking the arresting night sky. All of this is encased in the striking Welsh countryside, replete with various flora and fauna, making it ideal for wildlife spotting.

Activities at Damselfly include egg-collecting, picking fruit and veg, bush craft lessons and green woodworking classes. You can even do a bit of foraging. The surrounding area contains various beauty spots and enchanting villages, including: Cardigan, a bustling market town; Llangranog, a beautiful unspoilt seaside village nestled in a steep valley; Newport, a captivating town at the foot of the Preseli Mountains, with an abundance of unique shops and eateries; and not to forget the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, just a few miles from Damselfly. If you're more of a get up and goer then the region is perfect for coastal and woodland walks, rock pooling, surfing, horse-riding, and various other activities.
