Originally the site of a music festival, guests can now enjoy this relaxing space all year round in these quirky and colourful glamping cabins. There are two to chose from, The Jumble and The Studio, both situated in peaceful spots surrounded by green fields and woodland.
The Jumble has come along way since it began life as a DJ booth and outdoor dance floor. This cute green chalet/horsebox combo couldn't feel more serene in its peaceful location perching on the hill side. Step inside and guests instantly feel at home in this cosy cabin. A large leather swivel armchair sits between a huge sash window and patio doors, while the flickering fire of the log burner, surrounded by a carved wooden mantelpiece, keeps the space warm during cooler evenings.
At bedtime, slide between the snuggly blankets with a good book. A vintage chest of drawers provides plenty of space to stash belongings and a pretty bedside lamp is handy for those reading late into the night. In the morning, pull back the heavy red curtains and bask in the morning sunshine.
Much of The Jumble has been built from reclaimed wood which has been used to great effect in the kitchen, found in the former horsebox, and bathroom which has a large bathtub and plenty of hot water. A wooden deck makes the perfect spot to sit out and watch the stars or start the day listening to birdsong while sipping tea. It stretches to the side of the hut where guests discover the wood fired hot tub, which is perfect for idling away the day in the bubbling waters while gazing out to the countryside.
For larger groups, the colourful Studio houses four people. There is a large bedroom and living space with colourful drapes casually slung over the timbers of the two four poster beds and cool tie dies create a bright canopy across the ceiling. Snuggle on the comfy sofa in the centre of the room, warming toes by the wood burning fire and binge watch the latest television shows. Rest mugs of marshmallow-topped cocoa on the heavy wooden coffee table and make plans for the following day. To the rear of The Studio is an outdoor deck where guests discover the hot tub and hammock, situated for the best vantage point of the surrounding countryside. The Studio has a separate kitchen and dining area which is located in a wooden building just a few footsteps away, as is the shower hut.
Beyond the site, guests will find plenty to do. Head to the Dunstable Downs for a hike, The Rex Cinema for an evening out or relax in one of the local pubs. Favourites include the nearby Bell Inn and Red Lion, both are good Gastro pubs.
