The detail

Boasting an elevated position on a clifftop in the cool St Leonards area of Hastings, Cliffhanger House offers groups of up to 12 adults and two children a fantastic retreat by the sea. Guests can socialise in the spacious living areas, all of which boast fantastic views of the sea, before warming themselves in the sunshine on the deck or hopping in the luxury hot tub.

The downstairs area is modern and stylish, with a number of excellent reception rooms. Get comfy with a good book in the cosy lounge or sink into the sofas with a glass of wine catching up with loved ones. Whip up a delicious feast for your group in the contemporary kitchen, which is equipped with two double ovens, two fridges, a large freezer, an induction hob and a Sage bean-to-cup coffee machine. Once you’ve prepared dinner, enjoy meals that stretch long into the night on the spacious dining table that sits opposite a bay window offering amazing sea views. Or, if the weather’s nice, slide open the double doors in the kitchen and dine alfresco on the sun deck with yet more incredible views.

The deck is also home to a BBQ, ideal for some grilling in summer, and a luxury hot tub. Hop in with a glass of bubbly and enjoy the sea air in pure comfort.

When bedtime beckons the house has six super-comfy bedrooms. Five of the bedrooms feature ensuite bathrooms for added privacy and the sixth room is a bunk room for the kids. The home features high-speed WiFi throughout and the bedrooms also have TVs with Netflix and all of the usual catch-up options.

Guests also have access to a nice selection of toys, games and jigsaw puzzles, meaning adults and kids will have plenty to keep them occupied on rainy days. For added comfort, the home features underfloor heating, the bathrooms are stocked with REN toiletries and guests are provided with fluffy bathrobes and complimentary slippers.

You may wish to while away your days on the deck in the sunshine or relax in the hot tub. But those of you who do wish to venture out and explore the local area have lots to see and do. You’re less than 10 minutes’ walk from the beach, which is a big and beautiful pebble beach that’s ideal for swimming, paddling and lying in the sun. Guests may also wish to venture into Hastings to visit its many lovely shops, quaint cafes and fab pubs. The beautiful Old Town is great fun and guests can wander the cobbled streets exploring the antique arcades, junk shops, vintage clothes shops and retro furniture shops found here.
