  The Detail...

With beds for up to five people between two bedrooms, this cosy and rustic cabin on a Welsh farm is the perfect self-catering holiday house. Enjoying a private electric-powered hot tub and an expansive garden beneath a towering horse chestnut tree, Chestnut Cabin is a dream getaway for couples, friends and families looking to get away from urban life and spend some time in the leafy beauty of central Wales.

Situated on a family run farm, Chestnut Cabin is a gorgeous cottage surrounded by greenery, replete with everything you need for a Welsh adventure, including a woodfired pizza oven and picnic area. Warmed by a wood-burning stove, powered by free logs throughout your stay, Chestnut Cabin is cosy in its design and equipped with a range of amenities to ensure that whatever the season, youre comfortable and relaxed throughout your stay.

Set among semi-wild pastures and forest, by night the only sound is the gentle chirping of local birds, while from morning till dusk, the house and gardens are bathed in sunlight. The Chestnut Cabins main living space is an open-feeling communal room with exposed rafters, a brick chimney breast, and neutral tones. Unusual boardgames mean that a day spent inside wont be gloomy. Next door from this room, a master bedroom comes with a double bed and views of the trees outside, while a remarkable triple bed in the other bedroom can sleep up to three people, suiting multiple configurations of guests.

The Chestnut Cabin house and grounds have been designed to maximise activities and socialising spent outdoors, with ample al fresco seating and a large grassy expanse providing space to do everything from running around to unwinding with a book and a glass of wine after a days exploring. One of the best things about staying at The Chestnut Cabin is knowing that every booking helps to support the incredible work of the Fisherman's Rest Charity, an education non-profit in Malawi which the owners work closely with. For more information, visit www.fromwales.com or speak to your hosts.

This area of Wales has long been considered a paradise for those who enjoy being outdoors, and draws visitors from all over the UK and beyond. Guests at The Chestnut Cabin will be delighted to find The Blue Lagoon a short distance away, with a well-earned reputation for some of the best coasteering in Britain. Literary enthusiasts are encouraged to make the trip to nearby Laugaurne, the celebrated location of Dylan Thomas boat house, while nearby Cardigan is certainly worth popping into to pick up some locally made fare from independent retailers. Closer to home, The Fox and Hounds is a brilliant dog-friendly local pub with a great kitchen.
