The details
Gelli Glamping consists of two luxurious safari tents, set amongst the idyllic scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Located on a secluded hilltop overlooking Tywi Valley, it’s a special spot to escape from busy life with family or friends. The tents are equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay and are complete with their own private hot tubs, where guests can relax and take in the panoramic views or enjoy one of the glorious sunsets.
The first tent Y Berllan can sleep up to six guests, with one king size bedroom, one cosy cubbyhole with a queen bed and two single beds on a mezzanine floor. The interior is surprisingly spacious, with lots of room to socialise and relax in the living and dining areas. The kitchen is fitted with a four ring gas hob, sink, microwave, fridge, freezer and all the cooking basics, dishes and silverware you could need. There’s also a bathroom with a shower, flushing toilet and washbasin. When the mercury drops, the tent can be warmed by a log burner.
New for 2022, the second tent Yr Odyn can sleep up to four and is great for couples or small families. It boasts a well-equipped kitchen that features a two ring induction hob, a living space with a cosy log burner and a bathroom with a shower, toilet and washbasin. Two bedrooms await when it’s time to sleep, one king size with a four-poster bed and one smaller bunk room, perfect for kids.
Both tents have decking where you can sit and appreciate the lovely views, and outside you’ll find the private hot tubs and fire pits to warm up by in the evenings. They can be booked separately or together for bigger groups.
Gelli Glamping can be found in the heart of the Welsh countryside in the Brecon Beacons National Park (but just a 20 min drive from the M4). The area is a mecca for outdoor activities like hiking and mountain biking, with plenty of footpaths and cycle trails right on your doorstep. There are also spectacular castles, historic manor houses and a wonderful botanical garden nearby. Carreg Cennen Castle is particularly impressive, perched precariously on a steep cliff just a short walk from the accommodation.
The charming market town of Llandeilo is just two miles away, popular among visitors for its narrow streets lined with independent shops, colourful Georgian houses, pubs and restaurants. It also hosts a selection of magical festivals throughout the year.
