The Details...

Get onto the open waters at Blue Hue, a converted canal boat located on Speirs Wharf in Glasgow. With views across the city's skyline to Campsie Fells in the distance, this unique getaway provides a holiday to remember.

The blue design on the exterior and interior gives the boat its name and it sleeps 2 guests; making it the perfect option for a romantic city break. Blue Hue is open plan inside and offers plenty of home comforts throughout. Bench-style sofas run along the side of the cabin, providing great places to sit and watch TV, or snuggle up in front of the wood burner during the chillier evenings. A well equipped kitchen comes complete with a gas oven, microwave, and all the cooking utensils, cutlery, and crockery required to create some culinary delights.

The bespoke bathroom has been cleverly designed to incorporate a basin, WC, and stand-in power shower. Finally, the tailor-made double bed offers supreme comfort and has been raised up so those staying can lie back and relax and watch the traffic on the water pass by their window.

Blue Hue's central location in Speirs Wharf means it is ideally situated for heading out and exploring and discovering a plethora of activities. Go out on a canoe or bike to get the best view of the Forth and Clyde canal, or alternatively Glasgow's city centre is just a 20 minute walk away. While it may not have the same kudos as nearby Edinburgh, Scotland's capital, Glasgow has so much to offer. There are plenty of edgy bars and restaurants to choose from, whether it's shabby-chic vegan joint The 78, Drury Street's Horseshoe Bar, or the Drygate Brewery.

For those who want to discover Glasgow's history then a visit to the cathedral, built in 1197, is a must, as is the nearby Necropolis - a gothic cemetery dating back to 1833. For those seeking culture there is the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Sharmanka Kinetic Theatre, Riverside Museum, Scottish Football Museum, and much more. The nightlife is also buzzing, with longstanding music venue Sub Club a particular favourite, along with refurbished Victorian church Oran Mor.
