Situated on the penumbra of the village of West Runton, barely a hop and a skip from the north Norfolk coast, you will find Blackwood. Named for the heavily charred Accoya that makes up the exterior, Blackwood is surrounded by woodland comprised of oak, beech, birch, and sweet chestnut trees. Its private grounds are set among National Trust West Runton and Beeston Regis Heath, ideal for those wishing to explore some of the East of England's most picturesque countryside, towns, and villages. Should you wish to stay put, there is more than enough to keep you occupied, with a large garden, outdoor furniture, a BBQ, and a firepit. Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, Blackwood is the perfect getaway for anyone who values comfort, peace, and luxury surroundings.
Specially commissioned artworks adorn the walls and shelves throughout Blackwood, helping to craft its distinct identity, as does the bright and airy colour scheme, timber beams, and vaulted ceilings upstairs. The ground floor houses the spacious open-planned living and dining area (with large sliding doors leading outside), along with the impressive solid beech kitchen - fully equipped with all the mod cons you need to prepare delicious meals for your group.
Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom, complete with a super king size bed with double doors leading to the garden. This bedroom also benefits from a bathroom, complete with its own freestanding bath for some added luxury! The two remaining bedrooms are upstairs: A super king bedroom and a twin room (this can be converted into a double). Both rooms benefit from en-suite shower rooms and have woodland views. Outside, guests are free to enjoy the spacious lawn, dine al fresco on the decking, or enjoy an evening around the separate firepit/BBQ area.
The Norfolk Coast - a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - offers 45 miles of scenic coastline to explore. It is a favourite with walkers, cyclists, and beach-lovers alike. Within walking distance or a short drive of Blackwood are the seaside towns of Sheringham and Cromer, with the latter being known for its crab and traditional pier. Also nearby is Cley-next-the-Sea, worth a visit alone for its pottery and many artisan shops. If you wish to venture further south, then the city of Norwich is a 45-minute drive away. As an architecturally significant city, there are several points of interest, including Norwich Cathedral, and Norwich Castle. It is also popular for its arts scene, museums, shopping, restaurants, and nightlife.
