Bilshay Farmhouse is an idyllic thatched house that can sleep up to nine people. Set on the jaw-droppingly beautiful Symondsbury Estate, it’s a fabulous place to holiday with friends or family. Chic interiors and a stunning garden really puts this beautiful property into a league of its own. Add to that its own hot tub overlooking fabulous Dorset views and you know you’re onto something special.
The large open-plan kitchen and dining room is wonderfully bright and is well equipped with a large range cooker, American style fridge and freezer and characterful wooden worktops. The dining area is stunning with a large round table, fabulous fireplace and large exposed beams. A delightfully sociable space - just add a large pot of tea and cake.
The lounge is wonderfully cosy with a large wood burning stove housed in an impressive inglenook fireplace. Inviting sofas and pretty window seating all make for a rather relaxing space. And with large baskets of firewood, it’s the perfect place to snuggle down in front of a roaring fire.
There is one triple bedrooms (1 superking bed or two zip and link singles, plus a single bed), and 3 double bedrooms (superking beds also zip and link). All the rooms exude the timeless traditional interiors that make this house so appealing. Expect to be welcomed by soft white linens, unique furniture and colourful blankets. Explore a little further to discover plush dressings gowns and fluffy towels.
With two en-suite bathrooms, and a further master bathroom there are plenty to go round. All are sparklingly clean and beautifully presented.
Outside, there is a breathtaking terrace overlooking the panoramic vistas. With a large table, there’s plenty of room for an al fresco dinner party. Further on - and in prime position for the views - is a relaxing hot tub. And for the young (or young at heart) there’s also a games room and trampoline.
The location is not only picture perfect, there’s also lots to do. Discovering Symondsbury Estate alone could take up a full day. Follow the stream along a private track down to Symondsbury village. Here you’ll find Symondsbury Kitchen serving up delicious food from the estate. Then there’s a wonderful home and garden shop, and Symondsbury store selling local, award-winning, food and drink. The Jurassic coast is also just a stone’s throw away - with the town of Bridport and the quaint fishing harbour of West Bay being less than a ten minute drive away.
