This beautiful riverside home in pretty Devon is the place for families and friends to come together, relax and have fun in a beautiful setting bursting with wildlife. Full of character and homely touches, this welcoming house, situated along a windy country lane in a quiet valley, is ideal for those searching for some peace and tranquility away from the hectic everyday stress
Wake to the smell of coffee in the country-style kitchen, which is fully-equipped with everything needed to prepare wonderful meals - from lazy brunches to Sunday afternoon roast dinners. Memorable dinners can be enjoyed at the large wooden dining table which sits in the light-filled open plan living and dining area.
After dinner, fix a nightcap from the drinks dresser, there is also a designated drinks fridge, and sink into the deep sofas while gazing through the patio doors which lead outside onto the fabulous garden. Or, head into the superb television room where guests can snuggle on the huge corner sofa and watch a movie, or get competitive and unbox the board games.
On sunny days, visitors may spend their days, and evenings, outside in the beautiful garden surrounded by birdsong. A large dining table sits outside on the verandah overlooking the lush lawn which is fringed by a multitude of mature trees. Sit back and listen to the youngsters play safely on the grass or burn off lunch with some friendly games of badminton and table tennis. A river also runs through the garden and there are lots of spots for you to settle in for a delightful picnic in the sunshine. The grounds are also home to some fabulous orchards, and you're welcome to help yourself to the apples.
At night, ignite the fire pits and listen to the sound of the river which flows along the bottom of the garden. Relax on the patio lounge furniture before taking an evening dip in the hot tub.
When all the marshmallows have been toasted and eyelids begin to droop, the wonderful bedrooms, with comfy mattresses and a quiet setting, guarantee guests a peaceful sleep.
Buzzards House is situated in a lovely location where visitors can wander the woodlands, rivers and orchards of the valley and barely see another soul. Historic Exeter is a short drive away and is a great city for a morning of shopping and lunch in one of the many lovely cafes and restaurants. You're also nicely placed to explore Buzzard Woods, a National Trust location off the beaten track in Devon's Dart Valley. These woods provide a tranquil oasis that's well worth exploring and there are numerous amazing walks and locations for you to enjoy. The Great Western Canal is also close by and offers barge trips and yet more great walks.
