A spacious four bedroom detached house in the tranquil village of Thurlestone awaits those seeking an escape from the pandemonium of busy urban life. Beautifully decorated and proudly kept by the owners, guests will immediately be taken in by an air that is both homely and contemporary. Each room at Avon Rock is bathed in natural light, while there are panoramic country and sea views in abundance. Both to the front and back are large outdoor spaces, perfect for spending the day enjoying games on the lawn or dining al fresco in the evening. The location also means that gorgeous countryside is never more than a few steps away, while the South Devon AONB is right on your doorstep. With four beautiful bedrooms, gorgeous décor, a refreshing atmosphere, and a truly wonderful location, Avon Rock has something for everybody.
The main entrance to the house is through the rear, past a utility room and into the kitchen. The modern, spacious kitchen comes well-equipped with all necessary mod cons for cooking up a storm and its ample workspace makes meal prep a treat rather than a chore. Adjacent, is the lounge and dining area, with lots of comfy seating and a dining table which seats eight. There is also a separate TV room, perfect for relaxing with a film or having a night in enjoying the selection of games on offer. At either side is a set of patio doors, granting access to the front and rear terraces.
Upstairs there are four well-proportioned and beautifully decorated bedrooms: one king size, two twins (or super kings), and one twin bunk room. Each room benefits from views of the surrounding countryside, while three of the four boast sea views. The bedrooms share the family bathroom - complete with bath and shower - and a separate WC. There is an additional shower room on the ground floor.
The house benefits from a huge amount of outdoor space. There is a terrace area to the front, while to the rear is a large garden. Here, you can relax on the patio area and enjoy a meal at the outdoor table, or you can enjoy some garden games on the sprawling lawn. If that sounds like too much effort, then feel free to recline on one of the sun loungers.
Thurlestone is a charming Devon village lined with thatched cottages and offering spectacular coastal views. The local pub, The Village Inn, has regional ales and traditional fare aplenty. Being situated within the South Devon AONB also makes it the ideal base from which to explore some of southern England's most stunning countryside. Less than two miles south, you will find Hope Cove. This quaint fishing village provides a quieter alternative to some of the region’s larger settlements, along with fantastic access to some truly beautiful coastal paths.
