Apple Loft cottage is an intimate couple’s hideaway that has a secluded spot in the heart of lush, rural Devon. With mesmerising views over the rolling Blackdown Hills, it is an exquisite bolthole in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Crimson sunsets shine over the patchwork fields, while starry night vistas twinkle down over the ancient woodland trees. With sparkling rivers, wild meadows and quaint, little villages, this is a picturesque backdrop for an extra special romance.
The cottage itself is an exceptional new build in the style of a barn conversation that has a loft-style finish with chic, studio accommodation. Set out on the first floor of a former farmhouse building, it has captivating views over the pastoral landscape. Listen to the soothing sounds of birdsong from your private glass-fronted balcony while watching a colourful sunrise with your early morning coffee. With peace and tranquillity oozing from every corner, you can breathe in the fresh, country air in blissful seclusion.
The open-plan living and dining area has a contemporary country design with sloping beamed ceilings. A subtle colour palette adds to the relaxing atmosphere and is joined by a traditional armchair with pretty plaid fabrics. A sink-in sofa looks out over the balcony, while a small dining table overlooks the modern kitchen. A wood effect stove keeps it snug and warm and is a nice finishing touch to the cosy living quarters.
The sumptuous double bedroom can be found through an open archway and has a comfortable mattress and a deluxe en-suite bathroom. Super-soft floral fabrics sit atop the antique cast iron bedstead and are joined by a quirky campaign chest and a vintage leather suitcase. A free-standing slipper bath is also an indulgent feature and is great for a sensual bubble bath after a day of invigorating country endeavours.
This beautiful area of Devon is quintessentially English and has plenty of old-worldly villages with chocolate-box cottages. Just a short drive away from the market town of Honiton, the cottage is well-placed for making the most of the charming location. Visit the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline for a day beside the sea or head to the historic fishing village of Beer for an authentic cream tea. With a stunning mosaic of magical hills, rivers and woodlands, you can enjoy a peaceful walk through the flourishing Otter Valley or the East Devon Way.
Electric optimist 'wood burner' stove. Smart TV. Blutooth digital radio. Garden, laundry room (washing machine & tumble dryer)and electric car charging point shared with guests in other accommodation units. Advance notice to use car charging point requested.
Surrounded by the tranquillity of the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and yet within easy driving distance of the Jurassic Coast and the many attractions of Devon and neighbouring Dorset and Somerset.
