Nestled above the loch in one of the most staggeringly remarkable landscapes in Scotland, Alder Cabin is a beautifully designed cabin, offering up to four people cosy and romantic accommodation between two bedrooms. Uniquely constructed to take advantage of the breathtaking vistas, Alder Cabin offers everything you could possibly need for a wholesome and rural time away in the Highlands, all contained within a charming and well-built cabin.
The property itself is clad with larch, and finished internally with hardwood. The layout is unusual, with a sleeping mezzanine and double bedroom which looks out through picture windows to the loch and mountains. In another bedroom you'll find single bunks beds, making this an ideal getaway option for pairs of couples as well as families. On the ground floor, an open plan kitchen enjoys enviable views out, and you have an engineered wood-burning stove and a functional, elegant kitchen.
Outside, a private area has been set up with tables and benches, hand-crafted from wood grown on-site, while a fire bowl offers guests the opportunity for cooking, or simply sitting out in the evening with a fire, watching the sun go down as you take in the loch in all its beauty.
Alder Cabin is a truly dreamy, magical spot, whether you're an individual traveller looking for an adventure, a couple heading into nature together, or a robust, outdoorsy family looking for a restorative holiday in loch country. In the summer months, swim in the loch and spend the long days hiking the local area, or taking out a rented canoe before coming home to BBQ some local game. In the winter, bundle up warm and take in the frozen landscape before enjoying a single malt whiskey in front of the wood-burning stove.
This area of Scotland has long been celebrated for its rugged beauty, undulating hills and intense tranquility. Guests tend to spend their time staying at Alder Cabin in the great outdoors, hiking, fishing, swimming or simply being in nature, watching for unusual birds and pleasing flora. With every season the loch changes and guests never grow tired of gazing out the window and taking in the rolling hills, glassy waters and bright skies. Despite the feeling of remoteness, there are excellent country pubs within easy driving distance, as well as Smiddy, an extremely local farm shop, ideal for stocking up on supplies.
