This utterly charming bed and breakfast sits within a stunning and sustainably renovated farmhouse in Italy’s Marche region. This wonderful guesthouse was once a convent, and now offers couples a selection of four delightful bedrooms to choose from, that allow you and your loved one to relax and unwind in style.
Each of the rooms features handmade wooden furniture and natural materials, alongside real plants and unique artwork. These stylish touches combine with high-quality bedding and spacious ensuite bathrooms to ensure that your comfort is always guaranteed. And, to top it off, you can also make the most of the rolling hill views, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of a hammock or the lovely terrace with a drink in hand.
First up is The Mignola Room, which is large, romantic and rustic with soaring wooden ceilings. A cosy daybed crafted by the owners’ neighbour Maurizio offers stunning views over the village and church. The room also features a generous walk-in closet, a desk and statement lighting. The extra-large bathroom boasts a luxury walk-in shower. This room is the perfect spot for reading, unwinding or getting creative — ideal for a couple’s escape.
Next, The Leccino Room is bright, serene and subtly romantic. With high wooden ceilings and soft natural tones, it creates a calm and inviting atmosphere. The king size bed has a handmade headboard, complemented by tasteful lighting and a statement art piece. Curl up in the lounge chair with village and church views. Thoughtful touches include an open wardrobe, vintage stools and a woven pouf. The spacious, light-filled bathroom rounds out this peaceful haven - perfect for couples wanting to slow down.
The Raggia Room offers a simple, cosy Mediterranean vibe with warm earth tones and natural textures. Handcrafted details by Maurizio, like the desk and leather bench, add charm. Linen curtains frame sunset views over Recanati, while a textured wall adds grounding warmth. The bright, compact bathroom features clean, natural finishes. With two single beds, it’s great for solo travellers or close companions seeking a calm retreat.
Finally, The Ascolana Room blends natural tones with soft, textured materials. A rustic desk and open wardrobe with bench, handcrafted by Maurizio, add a personal touch. Vintage metal lamps, ceramic wall hooks and playful artwork bring character and warmth. West-facing windows flood the room with sunset light, complemented by a spacious bathroom. The headboard is a special feature - made from repurposed olive waste, a sustainable and vegan-friendly material. Book as a twin with two singles or as a double king size room - perfect for couples, solo travellers or close friends.
Be sure to begin each day with a homemade breakfast on the terrace, then head out with the guest house’s personal tips for local food, beaches, nature and culture. This stay is perfect for unwinding, as you feel at home and able to enjoy the slower rhythm of the Italian countryside.
Discover the Marche region, one of Italy’s best-kept secrets - peaceful, authentic and delightfully diverse. Just 10 minutes from your doorstep, the sea awaits. Whether you fancy the sandy shores of Porto Recanati or the dramatic rocky trails of the Conero Coast, there’s something for swimmers and walkers alike. For mountain lovers, the Apennines are less than an hour away, offering hiking, biking and breathtaking views.
Head to the charming nearby towns of Loreto, Recanati and Macerata, each bursting with art, music, stunning churches and bustling markets. And don’t forget the food - fresh, local and packed with flavour. Marche invites you to slow down and savour the true taste of Italy.
During your stay, the staff at Agriturismo Scala are able to share insider tips, help with bookings and point you towards hidden local gems. Summer brings lively festivals and cultural events and they’ll make sure you don’t miss a thing.
