On the edge of the spectacular Snowdonia National Park, surrounded by lush green fields and overlooked by the magical Cambrian mountains, the Ynyshir Tipis offer guests a chance to retreat from busy lives and immerse themselves in the natural world. These traditional Tipis are perfect for anyone who loves the experience of camping without any of the discomfort and hard work tent trips can sometimes involve.
Spacious and stylish, the 21ft tipis are well-equipped with everything you could need for a relaxing stay. There is a separate indoors seating area where visitors can relax, keeping out of the sun or, should the weather take a turn, shelter from any passing showers, and enjoy a drink while catching up on a good book.
The centre piece is a wood burning fire which has a stove top for brewing morning coffees or night time toddies. A small fridge ensures cold drinks are kept chilled and food stays fresh. Basic cooking facilities are available, there is a barbecue and utensils and a freshly prepared breakfast hamper can be ordered in advance, delivered to your tipi at 10am from the Ynyshir restaurant.
There is an outdoor seating area with fire pits where guests can relax and enjoy being in nature late into the night. You also have your own private hot tub, meaning you can sit out in the sunshine or beneath the stars and enjoy a drink in added luxury! And, when bedtime calls, there is no struggling into sleeping bags. Each Tipi has its own king sized bed with crisp white linens, warm duvets and extra blankets, should the night air bring a chill.
Bathroom facilities consist of a good-sized walk-in shower with plenty of hot water, a light-up mirror and fluffy towels and bathrobes, complimentary toiletries are provided by the Good Wash Company.
Beyond the Tipis, there are many exciting adventures to be had from a 1km zip line across a disused quarry, to mountain biking, wild swimming and all types of hiking, from gentle wanderings to more hardcore hill walking or beach strolls at Ynys Las. Once guests have worked up an appetite, there are good pubs and restaurants just five miles from Ynyshir, including the Michelin starred Ynyshir and The Black Lion Inn at Machynlleth for a pint and pub grub.
