A stunning open plan barn with super stylish interiors, the ultimate home cinema experience and a Finnish hot tub - perfectly located in The Cotswolds. A truly secluded environment set within 30 acres of private land on the edge of a wooded and fielded valley leading to the village of Slad.
The Barn is thoroughly cleaned to the highest hygiene standards and we allow at least 24 hours between guests.
With 1500 square foot of modern open plan living and a fabulous Finnish hot tub - this gorgeous barn conversion will take your breath away. Whether it’s a romantic retreat or a small family holiday, it is sure to tick all your boxes. With idyllic views, stylish interiors and a full cinema experience (complete with surround sound), it’s the perfect place to kick back in style.
The space is beautifully zoned with an open plan kitchen, dining, living room/cinema space and cosy nook/second bedroom (with sofa bed) downstairs, and a clever mezzanine double bedroom upstairs.
The living area has a large designer sofa and plush leather armchair - making it the perfect place to spread out. And the gorgeously plump cushions make it a cosy haven in front of the home cinema. The cinema is a seriously impressive set up, with full experience surround sound and a library of films to choose from - just remember to stock up on plenty of popcorn.
The stylish kitchen has all you need for your stay, with a large fridge freezer, oven with induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and a super sleek island housing a rather impressive cookery book collection. Next to the kitchen is a relaxed dining area with seating for up to four people - it’s very simply but very stylishly put together.
Downstairs there is also a cosy nook/second bedroom that has a further sofa/sofa bed, well-stocked bookshelves and there’s even a guitar - perfect for any impromptu singalongs. Head upstairs to discover a delightful mezzanine bedroom - with a large mahogany sleigh bed, crisp white linen and sumptuous textiles, it’s going to be hard to get out of it in the morning. The bright railings add a little industrial chic to the space and afford you fantastic views over the cool living space below.
Outside you'll find the luxuriously deep and relaxing wooden Finnish style hot tub, plus a pretty garden overlooking idyllic countryside views. With a large BBQ and quality wooden garden furniture you’re all set up for some al-fresco dining.
Fabulously located in the Cotswolds means that there is loads to explore - with fabulous walks, mountain biking or horse riding. The property even has room to stable two horses if you fancy bringing along your horse. And if you want to exercise a little retail therapy then Cirencester, the ‘capital of the Cotswolds’, is within easy striking distance. With narrow streets, beautiful architecture and plenty of independent boutiques, it’s a lovely town to explore.

Leave a reviewWe had a truly wonderful family staycation at The 5 Valleys Barn. This was our first trip away with our 3 month old baby boy and we couldn’t have picked a better stay or better hosts. They thought of everything so we didn’t have to, and it was incredibly dog friendly for our fur baby too! I couldn’t get over all the little touches, it really was the most wholesome staycation we have had yet and we’ve been fortunate enough to stay in many places across the UK but none of them hold a candle to this place. The walks that are literally on your doorstep was one of the highlights along with the Finnish Hot Tub, it’s so peaceful and relaxing and the sky is so clear it’s beautiful. I would 100% recommend this staycation and we will definitely be returning in the near future.

We had a wonderful stay for 5 days in this charming barn. We truly couldn’t ask for more. Everything was just perfect, the house, enchanting forest trails and relaxing jacuzzi. It felt like home away from home. The only problem is that now out 1yr Hugo knows what dogs heaven is and he is quite unhappy with us for returning to London :) We will have to come back!

Stayed at this wonderful Barn for the third year running. Fantastic hosts who make you feel most welcome and who go out of their way to help you in any way they can. The local area is very picturesque and there is plenty to do and see within easy reach, with beautiful walks across open countryside and through local enchanting woods, and places and towns of interest to visit. The Barn itself is extremely well appointed and most comfortable. Everything you could possibly need is provided. A wonderful stay in every sense.

Hi. We live in the area but wanted to have an easter break to explore the countryside. The barn is excellent, completely equipped and feels very private in the beautiful Slad valley but also 25 mins from Cheltenham if you wanted to pop into town for an afternoon. We went with our 8 year old daughter who enjoyed the walks in private woods and also being able to see the stabled horses. Excellent choice for a Cotswold break in the private countryside but also a short distance from bars / restaurants of Cheltenham, Cirencester or Stroud.

We have recently returned from our stay here and cannot fault our weekend. From start to finish Jon and Anthea were the perfect hosts, providing us with lots of tasty goodies and wine and having the hot tub ready for us to use on arrival! The barn was spacious yet so cosy and the location and views were stunning. It couldn’t have been more perfect for a relaxing and peaceful trip away from city life. We will definitely be returning in the not too distant future!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here for our wedding anniversary at the end of March 2023. The barn is delightful, a feast for the eyes! We were amazed (and grateful) for the level of thought and detail applied. Literally, everything had been thought of to ensure a comfortable (and super well-equipped) stay. A great base to explore the locality, Jon's suggestions of Stroud Saturday Market and Jolly Nice Farm Shop were spot on and we enjoyed them both. We highly recommend 5 Valleys Barn!

We’ve just a wonderful stay at 5 Valleys Barn and would highly recommend. The breakfasts provided are generous and delicious, the barn is super clean, cosy and spacious. We loved the hot tub and all the walks (to lovely pubs), you can do directly from the barn. Such a fabulous place to have a relaxing time in a beautiful part of the world. I would echo what someone else has said about better lighting in the bathroom and upstairs but it is a small thing.

We had a lovely peaceful break at 5 Valleys Barn. The location was ideal- remote for quiet and relaxing but still within walking distance to local villages/pubs and easy driving distance to other pubs. It was also around 30-40 minutes to the main attractions- The Water Park/Wildlife Park/Stow on the Wold etc. Our dog had the time of his life and enjoyed playing with Jon and Anthea's dog and the field opposite is great for off lead exercise. The welcome hamper supplied is generous and was very much enjoyed. As someone who stays in accommodation which is "home from home" I have to say this is rare these days and a really nice touch. The barn was cosy and enjoyable. The wood fired hot tub was lovely to use at the end of the day. Perhaps brighter lights in the bathroom and a mirror upstairs would be good but these are very small points! Have recommended already to a friend.

We really enjoyed our stay at the barn - it was incredibly peaceful and ideal to have the field directly from the barn. Even better that this went straight into the woods for lovely cool walks with the dogs. The barn itself is kitted out brilliantly with great appliances and equipment. It's also in a really good location - you never had to travel far to find more wonderful walks, lovely farm shops or nice pubs. We will definitely stay again!

Where do I start?! The perfect place to unwind and take in some peace and quiet surrounded by nature. Anthea & John were v welcoming and accommodating. The barn was amazing and had everything you would need. The location is perfect for exploring that part of the UK, every direction plenty to do. The dogs had wonderful walks and our daughter was very grateful for the massive TV, cosy bed and treats left on her bed when we arrived and not forgetting being able to say hi to their horses! Wish we had booked for longer. Special place and run by really lovely people, which to us makes all the difference! Go have an alpaca walk too in the local village you won’t regret it! Thoroughly recommend it felt like a little piece of heaven in the middle of nowhere yet everything on your doorstep. Thank you Anthea and John.

Myself, husband, our 9 year old son and golden retriever Bella had an awesome time staying in the barn. Our son particularly enjoyed the hot tub and Bella loved the open fields and woods right outside the door! The treats were extremely welcome and Jon and Anthea were extremely attentive and lovely to talk to. Bella loved her play dates with Bullet I’m the garden and we loved our long walks from the barn. We’ll definitely be returning ????

Really enjoyed our stay at 5 valleys barn. The barn accommodation is spacious, clean and kitted out to such a high standard. Loved the nice touches such as good quality food and drink items on arrival, the surround cinema with film library, nice bathroom (excellent shower) and not forgetting the Finnish hot tub. Jon and Anthea were superb hosts, on hand if needed but not at all intrusive. Would certainly stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at 5 valleys barn at the end of April. Jon and Anthea were super hosts, with the hot tub ready to go soon after we arrived and so many nice little touches such as fresh bread, bottle of wine and lots of other treats on arrival that made our stay extra special. The barn itself is stunning and so well laid out with all the appliances you could need in the kitchen, an amazing 65" tv to watch all the movies on offer from the library of DVDs and a really comfy bed to collapse into at the end of the day. We travelled as a couple with our 1 year old daughter, who had a wonderful time, the barn is baby friendly with travel cot and highchair available, Jon and Anthea have even installed a stair gate - they've thought of everything! There are plenty of walks to go on in the local area and the scenery is beautiful in every direction you look. It was lovely to sit in the hot tub and watch the horses in the field along with the occasional pheasant and rabbit passing by. We had a wonderful stay an hope we can return again one day. Anthea & Jon couldnt of been better hosts! The whole experience was just beautiful. The hot tub was prepped and ready for us :) which they monitored regularly for us to ensure it stayed warm for whenever we wished to use it. We really appreciated the special snacks/treats provided also. The barns interior was so warm and homely which really made our time perfect. Surrounding area was so peaceful and relaxing. We loved our woodland walk and eating out at the nearby pub/restaurants. 100% recommend

I booked the barn for my boyfriend’s birthday and it was everything we were looking for!! The views and surrounding areas were just stunning - we enjoyed a beautiful walk to a cosy pub which we would definitely recommend! The barn itself was absolutely beautiful and the added touches from the hosts were really thoughtful - and delicious! We’ve never had so many goodies on our arrival before!! Jon and Anthea really looked after us and were always on hand to help with any queries we had and ensured the hot tub was ready to go for our arrival! I could not recommend them and the barn enough and we will be back!

Initial arrival felt like visiting family as we were personally greeted and given a tour of the barn. Very pleasantly surprised to find bread, wine, croissants, freshly ground coffee and other goodies ready for munching. Exceptionally clean and well presented property with lovely design features and our personal favourite; the wood fired hot tub which was a god send after enjoying the many local walks. We stayed in the barn a year after booking due to the pandemic. You will not be disappointed. The barn is lovely with almost everything you would require. Wine, milk, jams, bread, coffee, Tea to name but a few. There is lots of space and the fittings are first class including the large Finnish hot tub. Jon and Anthea have a comprehensive how to do list in the barn and for those WiFi buffs the signal is very strong. The surround sound and TV are fantastic if you just fancy a night in and bbq as we did with one of their many choices of DVD. Jon and Anthea were lovely and so helpful. We borrowed their mountain bikes to go about 6 miles round trip to the local pub for lunch. All in all well worth the money and would definitely recommend.

We had the most amazing stay at The Barn in July! From the moment we arrived our host was so friendly and welcoming. The Barn was beautifully furnished and the attention to detail was very impressive. It had all the amenities required but so many additional features which made our stay even more comfortable. Our host provided fresh food items on our arrival and even some ice lollies to enjoy! The hot tub was ready for use and was a big hit over the time we were there. The beds were comfortable and our host provided fans to keep us cool at night. We loved being so close to the horses and spent a lot of time with them. We used the beautiful weather to spend the evenings sitting outside the barn, enjoying wine and soaking up the peaceful surroundings. Its close proximity to Stroud, Cheltenham and Gloucester enabled us to explore these areas but return to 5 star luxury! Thank you so much Jonathan & Anthea, we will return.

Blissful stay here with my daughter. The hot tub was ready for us to enjoy on arrival this was especially welcome as we had a almost catastrophic car breakdown en route! Jon got us booked into a local garage the next day and it was sorted. We had some great bike rides, locally, nice meal at the Foston Arms. And thoroughly enjoyed the surround sound, cinema like TV with a brilliant choice of DVDs - in genre order too. We did feel Jon and Anthea were always there if we needed them, had super knowledge of the local area, and finally we wouldn’t have got back home to Sheffield without them! Highly recommend this as a place to stay - would we definitely stay again

Booked here for a nice break for the end of 2020 seeing the new year in. And what a place it is. Homely, practical, beautiful location and somewhere you can just switch off and chill. From the hot tub to the cinema screen, endless dvds for everyone to choose. Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. A really quirky, modern place with every little detail been. Really well thought of! We got the luck of some snow which really made it something else. And most of all Jon and Anthea were so helpful and accommodating, gave us our privacy but were always there if we needed anything and also the added bonus of a complementary bottle of champagne, chocolate and crisps on arrival along with essentials in the fridge. Really lovely place to stay, couldn't recommend it enough hopefully will return in the summer and get to experience this place even more but with the summer weather!

Our little weekend away was amazing! Firstly, although it felt in the middle of nowhere, it was so easy to find. Jon and anthea were both so welcoming to us and our dog and very accommodating of our different arrival times due to work etc. We were shown around the barn and shown how everything worked. The hot tub was also heated ready for our arrival. The kitchen was fully stocked with delicious snacks, pastries and wine too! The scenery was stunning - even with such fog and there were some beautiful walking routes around the local area. We spent our evenings in the hot tub and despite being next to Jon and anthea's home, it was very private and we were not disturbed.

Our stay at The Barn was absolutely wonderful. John and Anthea have really thought of every little detail from the floating drinks holder in the hot tub to fresh bread and croissants for breakfast. They were so welcoming and went to so much trouble heating the hot tub throughout the day ready for our first evening which was amazing! The projector, along with hundreds of DVDs to choose from meant that we could have the cosy stay that we intended on having. The kitchen was equipped with everything and great to use, as we'd bought all of our own food to cook. The Barn is such a quirky and stunning place, we really felt at home and didn't want to leave.

All I can say is 'wow'. From the moment we arrived Jon & Anthea were SO accommodating and welcoming! We felt INSTANTLY at home - the barn has the absolute WOW factor! We stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate my birthday. Jon and Anthea were extremely accommodating and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. They have literally thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, from fresh bread and croissants with homemade jams, chocolate and wine, and even ice in the freezer! Their knowledge of the local area is fantastic, giving recommendations of where to eat and see. Take your bikes as there lots to explore! The barn itself is exquisite, decorated to a very high standard and the Finnish hot tub is a great addition. We spent a couple of nights relaxing and watching the stars. We stayed here with our two budgies over 3 days, and we loved our stay. The barn is amazing (very cool conversion), great attention to detail (loved the study and the artefacts and collection of books and movies!), very lovely hosts (who lived next to the barn in the pool house but completely respected our privacy but was there to help if needed) and the perfect location - surrounded by acres of fields and plenty of walks, but also close (20-30min drive) to main villages within Costwolds like Stow and Moreton and Bibury). The hot tub was a great touch and much needed after a long hike that made our muscles sore! The home theater made the movies a truly immersive experience (we are considering having one in our home now!). It was a perfect balance between having a homely cozy but stylish and comfortable stay.

What a wonderful place to get away for some quality time together! This beautiful barn has all the luxuries for some time away from the city, and still have everything you could possibly need. The barn is warm and extremely comfortable and romantic - Anthea and Jon had put essentials in the barn for us (milk/Freshly ground coffee/eggs/bread/wine etc), the bed is incredibly comfortable, hot tub is great for a drink watching the night sky and bright stars. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking anything you could possibly want, we stopped at Jolly Nice farmers shop on the way and stocked up on local produce and cooked a beautiful dinner on the first evening we arrived. There's great local pubs very close by to chose from for a drink or lunch/dinner after a long walk. Our Collie, Billy, was welcome to wander and make himself at home around the Barn grounds. Their horses are Devine to watch rolling around in the fields in the morning light. Anthea and Jon are very welcoming and kind, interesting people who are lovely to chat to. We would definitely stay again!

Booked this as a surprise 40th for my husband just before lockdown and we're so glad we did. Such an amazing place from the welcome and tour we got from Jon and Anthea on arrival to the well stocked kitchen. Inside the barn was so cosy and warm and the perfect place to relax and watch a film on the cinema screen. There's lots of lovely pubs within a short driving distance or if you like walking the scenery is fantastic through the woods. We were able to go for a lovely walk through the woods during the day in the sunshine and come back to enjoy watching the stars while sat in the hot tub with a glass of champagne! Thanks to Jon and Anthea, a lovely getaway. We had a brilliant and relaxing 3 days and will definitely be back in the future.

We stayed here with our puppy for my partner's birthday. We had a wonderful stay. Jon and anthea were fantastic hosts, and made us really comfortable, having thought of everything we could need. They even provided coffee beans and a grinder, and gave our pup treats when he wondered to their door. The property itself is beautiful and warm, we really enjoyed the projector for cold nights in and the kitchen was really well equipped for cooking. We stayed here for a few days. We received a warm welcome from Jon when we arrived who showed us around the lovely accommodation including snuggly beds for the dogs. The barn was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. We loved the eclectic furnishings. The bed was comfy with luxury linens. The cinema system was an interesting feature, which we enjoyed. Wonderful warm welcome from the hosts, they were lovely and so helpful. Beautiful modern barn in scenic surroundings. The barn has everything you need and everything you forgot you needed. Perfect for country walks and kids to use their imaginations. Our kids are 9 and 6, they had such fun looking at the animals and exploring the countryside. Walking distance to lovely local village pubs. At the end of the day curl up and watch the cinema screen. Definitely will be coming back again soon. We had a beautiful weekend break. We arrived tired but immediately felt at home. The barn is beautifully laid out and I loved that there was a bottle of wine to open. The accommodation is fantastic and what a cinema system! We enjoyed the local area taking a long walk in the morning followed by a drink at the WoolPack (Laurie Lee Country).
