Think of the Cotswolds and you’ll think of idyllic villages dotted around the beautiful British countryside. With a never ending supply of traditional stone houses nestled in picture perfect villages, holidaymakers are in for a real slice of old english perfection here.
Upper Slaughter is no exception, and is a charming base for anyone wishing to explore the surround area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Immerse yourself in the honey coloured limestone towns and villages, as you relax away from the hum drum of every day life.
The River Barn is a delightful newly converted barn, with far reaching views overlooking the river. Step inside and enjoy the quaint yet spacious accommodation set within this stunning village location.
From the moment you enter River Barn you will notice the exacting standards to which the owners have refurbished this property. The stylish, modern kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, washing machine, dishwasher and oven. Practical in every way, no detail has been overlooked as the decor and style is designed to match the country feel of this barn conversion perfectly.
If the British weather turns out to be more grim than great, take solace in this stunning cottage as you relax in the cosy and comfortable sitting area. With a sumptuous sofa, a handsome armchair and a wood burner to keep you feeling snug, you can enjoy watching the television, whilst you run you feet over the soft and inviting Kilim style rug.
The large master bedroom is beautifully presented with a kingsize bed for you to enjoy. Turn back the Egyptian cotton sheets and slip into a restful sleep after a day exploring the open spaces of the Cotswolds. The property also offers a further single bed, with pull out single mattress if you are looking to bring the family with you. The owners of the barn can provide a cot too, if you need to cater for the youngest members of your clan.
If a long country walk has got the better of you, rest your aching bones in a lovely hot bath in the luxurious bathroom with separate WC and over bath shower.
When the weather allows, step outside into the pretty cottage gardens with a selection of flowerbeds, a small herb garden and terrace with table and chairs. It you would like to wander further afield, a stone bridge over the river is right on your doorstep, as well as the picturesque cottages and quaint side streets of the village.
Upper Slaughter itself offers its very own historical Norman church, and is sat on the banks of the River Eye. Within a short driving distance of the truly exceptional villages Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-Water and Burford, you will never be far from the very best the Cotswolds has to offer.
The River Barn is a truly wonderful place to relax and enjoy this popular part of the county. Grab a bicycle and ride along the country paths, to villages across the way, or jump in the car and explore the shops and attractions in nearby towns. Wherever you chose to visit, there are a great many first class pubs and restaurants in the vicinity - so tuck in, you are on holiday after all!
The River Barn is a comfortable & stylish retreat, situated in a unique position in one of the prettiest parts of the world.
