Travel influencer and photographer Amelia Le Brun @amslebrun is planning a mini road trip around the Lake District now lockdown has been lifted. There'll be long mountain hikes, wild swimming in hidden tarns and plenty of brunch.
Where am I going now lockdown is lifted? I think at a push it would be packing up the van and taking a mini road trip around the Lake District. Relatively small but packed with so many amazing and varied hikes and views.
My favourite thing to do: Hiking, hiking and hiking. Oh and brunch, lots of post sunrise hike brunches!
My favourite place to go is Chesters by the river, fully veggie and vegan and dog friendly it is the best place in The Lakes to go eat!
Wild swimming is another personal favourite, there are so many amazing waterfalls, plunge pools and (obviously) lakes! There is no better way to end a hike on a hot Summers day the diving into a hidden tarn in the mountains.
Local tips: Be prepared to wait for a table at Chesters, they don’t take bookings (but I can assure you it is worth it!!)
Edenhall Estate and Another Place hotels are both beautiful places to base yourself in The Lakes if you don’t feel like camping or van-lifing.
Treat yourself to a stay at one of these beautiful Lake District boltholes.
