What your Coolstays wishlists tell us
The results from our wishlist competition tell an interesting story:
The dream Coolstays escape is a treehouse for two in Devon, with a hot tub and a sauna. Treehouses were picked three times more often than their share of Coolstays would suggest, and boathouses five times more often. Devon was the favourite region.
The most-picked property feature was a sauna. And it seems most people want to take their better half along for the steam - one third of all wishlist picks were places just for two.
Distance wasn't an issue. Half of UK wishlists contain properties spread over 300 km; while only 7% stay within 50 km. One in four lists include somewhere overseas, with Italy the favourite. And 4% of wishlists were entirely abroad.
The Outer Hebrides, Pembrokeshire, Dumfries & Galloway, the Lakes and the Highlands were picked more often than their share of listings would suggest.
Saunas, Sonos, underfloor heating and EV chargers were more popular than their availability would suggest, while pools, games rooms and table tennis were less popular. It seems people are after some grown-up time - “Family friendly” was one of the few tags selected less often than it appears across Coolstays.
