Escape to the beautiful Scottish countryside at this enchanting, spacious barn conversion near Lindores in Fife available for just £140 per night. Newly restored and completed in 2019, Woodmill Arches, offers a peaceful, relaxing and comfortable space for two, allowing you to rest and unwind in style. The interior throughout the entire barn is calm and contemporary with high quality, luxurious fittings.
As soon as you enter you’re presented with a large, tiled, gallery-style hall where you can leave your boots, bikes and golf clubs, before heading up to the exceptionally spacious main living space. Here, the lighting has been beautifully designed to create wonderful moods and atmospheres and there’s a lovely arched window through which the sunlight streams throughout the day.
This space is ideal for relaxing and dining, with a lovely bouncy carpet, a huge television, eight speaker bluetooth sound system and a biomass heating system to add to your comfort. This is a stylish, contemporary, and comfy spot where you can enjoy a well earned tipple after a day exploring the charming East Neuk of Fife.
There is a micro-kitchen contained in an alcove which has a kettle, toaster, coffee machine, fridge, microwave and slow cooker. The kitchen area is stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, milk and butter and for breakfast, lovely local oatcakes, apple juice from East Neuk orchards and home made jam.
When it comes to bed time, the large and impressive bedroom provides you with a gorgeous superking bed that can be converted into two singles if needed. Then there’s the modern bathroom, equipped with a rain shower, stylish black fittings and the nice addition of comfortably warm underfloor heating. Guests are also provided with linen and towels as well as complimentary toiletries.
There are a wonderful range of activities within a 45 minute drive offering something for everyone. The gentle hills as you leave the Arches provide a brisk but pleasant walk that takes you past beautiful woodlands and lovely scenery, offering a great way to establish your bearings upon arrival.
Local attractions include the National Trust village of Falkland (five miles), the Hill of Tarvit (nine miles), or for the spirit aficionados, there is the award winning Lindores Distillery (three miles). Not just limited to whisky, the distillery specialises in a range of spirits, apothecary experiences and distillery tours.
It would be remiss not to mention that ‘the home of golf’ is only half an hour away. St. Andrews, the prestigious town known for its golf (home of the Open), university and fine dining establishments is well worth a visit. St. Andrews is one of many idyllic towns and fishing villages in the area known as the East Neuk of Fife, a picture postcard region that will have you gasping as its beauty. Dining opportunities, particularly seafood, are aplenty along the coast and also closer to home, there are delightful pubs serving food in Cupar and Pitscottie. Country sports such as fishing, shooting and deer stalking can be arranged by the owners of the Arches, so please do make enquiries prior to arrival.
