Villa Montemaggio is a 7th Century cottage with private swimming pool, found in the heart of the famous Tuscan district of Chianti in central Italy. Set among 70 picturesque hectares of Chianti vineyards, olive groves and woods, this is the idyllic rural Italian escape. Sleeping up to six guests, the villa is perfect for family holidays and small groups. Sitting high up atop a hill, Villa Montemaggio benefits from wonderful panoramic views of the vineyards and stunning Italian countryside from its very own rooftop terrace, making you feel totally secluded from the world. And with some traditional villages a short drive away, you're never too far from amenities and a taste of Italian culture.
Despite the building exterior being completely original, the villa interiors have been totally refurbished for modern living, complete with both air conditioning and central heating for year-round comfort. There are two king-size rooms and one queen-size, each with its own marble ensuite bathroom with underfloor heating and rain shower, as well as one bathtub in the master ensuite. The lounge has a stunning antique wooden floor with floral pattern, and there is also a dining room and full-equipped gym. The kitchen is extensive, with everything you need to cook up the homegrown produce available to you - be sure to try out some traditional Tuscan recipes. Why not sit out on the rooftop terrace with a bottle of local Chianti, watching the sun go down on the vineyards? Or take a dip in your very own pool among all the greenery to cool off from the hot summer sun. Kids will surely be entertained thanks to the tree-house and games park.
The cottage is located around 7km from the quaint villages of Radda in Chianti and Panzano in Chianti, as well as being not too far from a number of other noteworthy towns, such as Greve, Castellina and Gaiole. It is based on the Roman road from Florence to Siena, dating back to 1560.
