The detail

Not only does Limousin Regional Natural Park have some of France's most arresting countryside vistas, but it is also replete with beautiful villas too. Among them is Villa de la Roussie. Lovingly renovated by the owners to the highest of standards, the interior is a harmonious blend of contemporary and countryside aesthetics, with a cooling colour pallet combining perfectly to create a luxurious and homely air. The exterior maintains its traditional appearance, while the outdoor spaces include terraces, a lawn, and a heated swimming pool. Sleeping up to nine guests across four bedrooms, Villa de la Roussie is the ideal countryside getaway for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The main living space of the property is the open planned kitchen and dining area. This room comes with a fully equipped island kitchen and a dining table with seating for eight. A separate large living room is the perfect space for relaxation and looks out onto a covered terrace. All of the bedrooms are on the first floor, each with a view of the stunning garden. Three of the rooms are doubles, with the fourth having a double bed and a single. All the double beds can be configured into twins if needed. There are two shower bathrooms and two separate WCs for added convenience.

The exterior is perhaps where the house shines brightest. To one side of the villa, you will find the pebbled terrace, complete with a BBQ and outdoor wicker couch sat beneath a large parasol - the ideal setting for an evening nightcap. Continue round the corner, and you will find a coffee table and sheltered outdoor dining table overlooking the beautiful lawn. A swimming pool with six sun loungers adds the finishing touches to a truly luxurious outdoor space.

While Villa de la Roussie is in a rural location, you will be just a short drive from shops and other amenities. Périgord itself is a region that is rich in history and local wildlife, the latter making it a firm favourite of nature lovers, hikers and cyclists. The villa sits within the boundaries of Limousin Regional Natural Park. The park boasts a varied landscape, including moors, bocages, meadowland, forest, heathland and dry grasslands. The land is also dotted with numerous lakes and pools. Less than an hour's drive to the northwest is the city of Angoulême, known for its vibrant cultural life, hosting annual events such as Angoulême International Comics Festival, the FFA Angoulême Francophone Film Festival and the Musiques Métisses.
