Escape with a loved one to a romantic hideaway located amongst some of England's most inspiring scenery. Take walks across the rolling green fields following the dry stone walls to riverside picnic spots and, in warmer months, partake in some wild swimming. The area is a beautiful spot to press pause on life and enjoy some fresh air and quality time with your loved one. And, when the feet are aching and the stomach is rumbling, Town Street Barn makes the perfect spot to snuggle down and reflect on the day's adventures.
This 18th century stone barn is homely and welcoming, feeling traditional but with plenty of modern luxuries provided. It has been sympathetically refurbished so the character of the building remains, with wooden floorboards and solid wood beams throughout.
On the ground floor there is a wonderful cinema room, the perfect space to relax and enjoy a movie. Like the rest of the property, it is stylishly furnished with a plush velvet sofa and linen knitted footstools. There is also a handy boot room for leaving muddy footwear, a washing machine, and a modern wet room with metro tiles and a rainfall shower.
Upstairs there's a modern kitchen/diner/living area. The kitchen includes everything you could need for rustling up a hearty dinner and, with a satisfied appetite, snuggle on the sofa with a glass of wine and watch the flames flicker in the wood burner. And when sleep calls, slip between the Egyptian cotton sheets and enjoy some restorative shut eye.
The bedroom features a freestanding bath, so, when you wake, throw open the windows and enjoy a morning bath soaking up the gentle countryside ambiance of this characterful little village. Then wander outside, take a coffee, and soak up some sun on the pavement-side bench, the ideal spot for enjoying the slow, relaxing pace of village life.
Brassington itself is well-situated and many lovely walks can be accessed from the village, while the popular Tissington Trail passes nearby. It is home to two traditional and popular pubs, The Miner's Arms and The Olde Gate Inne.
There are some lovely towns nearby including the market towns of Bakewell and Ashbourne, which has some fantastic antique shops. The town is also host to the famous Shrovetide football tournament which takes place over two days, Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday, every year.
