In the pretty village of Wootton Rivers, this beautifully converted chapel is perfect for a romantic escape to the countryside or for a small family looking for a quiet getaway. The building has been lovingly renovated to create bright, open-plan living spaces and cosy bedrooms under the eaves. There’s also a large private garden overlooking the fields beyond with a seating area where you can relax and enjoy the views.
The beautiful chapel door opens onto the spacious open-plan kitchen and living area, complete with dishwasher and washing machine. You’ll find the kitchen fully-equipped and there’s a table with space for four. Comfy sofas are gathered around a wood-burning stove to keep you cosy on chilly evenings. The stairs lead up to the master bedroom with a double bed set under the chapel's sloping ceiling. There is an ensuite shower room with luxurious underfloor heating and the second bedroom is just off the master bedroom.
The French doors downstairs lead out onto the large fenced garden. This is perfect for bringing the dog along and the large lawn is a great place for the kids to play. Sit out with your cup of coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the evening and enjoy the peace and quiet. You might be lucky and spot one of the barn owls flying over the fields as the sun goes down.
Located in one of the prettiest villages in Wiltshire and within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to scenic walks and places to explore. Wander along the Kennet and Avon Canal, or even hire a boat for the day and see the landscape from the water. There are lots of trails through the Savernake Forest nearby, or you can explore on two wheels with lots of great cycling routes in the area, such as the National Cycle Network Route 4. The house is only 20 minutes’ drive from Avebury Neolithic Stone Circle and just 20 miles from Stonehenge. There are plenty of options for foodies with lots of excellent pubs and restaurants in nearby Malborough, such as Stein’s, Dan’s at the Crown and Zakia.
