The Lake Escape is part of an exclusive Cotswolds estate conceived by legendary French designer Phillip Starck. You’ll have the rare opportunity to stay in a stunning property that sits on the edge of a clear water lake, surrounded by idyllic British countryside. The home has been beautifully designed and finished to an exceptionally high standard, boasting stylish décor, premium furnishings and lavish extras such as an ensuite sauna attached to the master bedroom. And don’t forget the delightful decking area, where guests can enjoy spectacular views and even sail off into the lake from their own private jetty.
At the heart of this luxurious property is the spacious, open-plan living area, which features floor-to-ceiling glass doors that flood the room with natural light. You’ll find the kitchen here, fully fitted with state-of-the-art appliances and all the gadgets even the most adventurous cook could wish for. If you don’t fancy catering for yourselves, you can hire a private chef and have a true fine-dining experience. Whatever you decide, meals can be enjoyed at the dining table or alfresco out on the decking, an experience you won’t want to miss out on. At the other end of the room is the chic living space, which has a large sofa and smart TV, a great spot to socialise or relax and catch up on the latest series. There’s also an additional seating area with a fireplace next to the kitchen.
The house has three bedrooms, including the master suite with super-king bed, lounge and ensuite with free standing bath and private sauna. The other two rooms, one super king and one twin, are just as impressive and in every room, guests can wake up to the gorgeous view of the lake each morning. There are another two bathrooms, one with a bath and one with a walk-in shower, and all are supplied with fluffy towels and premium toiletries. The home is complete with a cosy snug room that has comfy seating and a TV, perfect for a movie night.
Guests are free to explore the serene lake on one of the kayaks or the paddleboard provided, and there are opportunities for rowing, sailing and fishing. You’ll also find tennis and cricket courts, a shared playground to keep kids occupied and a golf net where you can improve your swing. After something more relaxing? The estate houses a five-star spa with a gym, heated pool and steam room. If you can pry yourself away from the spectacular retreat, there are several charming Cotswolds towns nearby, including Lechlade on Thames, which is home to a thriving market, lots of independent shops and an array of lovely places to eat and drink.
